I am no Cats fanatic, and I thought that buying the "Selections" CD at a lower price would satisfy me. However, I've watched the Cats movie too many times to count (I have a 4-year old who's obsessed), and was disappointed with the "Selections" CD. It's missing the Grizabella song (although it has a track titled "Grizabella", that's not really it) and other small pieces that I wish were included. The singing is not that great, save for Betty Buckley who sings Grizabella. She does a great job; however they tinkered with the music for "Memory" so it sounds like a really bad hit from the '80s.
If you want a cheaper CD to share songs with your 4-year old, then this one is great. If you really enjoy the music to Cats, then maybe the other ... Read More:

Top O' the Morning is a great album. I have purchased this particular album twice. I had been looking for this particular song (Top O' the Morning) for years, after first hearing it in the late 40's. As a Radio presenter of 40's and 50's music it was a great find. Thank you Amazon.

I had to rate 3 because I had to rate in the middle. This album can be good or bad, depending on who is listening to it. It is good for those who want simple, upbeat, quick, renditions of the song. It is not good for those looking to hear the songs in their entirety or attempt to learn them for a stage production (There are WAY too many cuts and changes to do that here!). I bought this album because I am an Oz collector. Also, I will give them credit on their decision to include the Witch in "The Jitterbug."

Jessica Grove` has a beautiful voice, however, a bit too operatic for the role of Dorothy. Lara Teeter, an amazing Scarecrow (and you may also note this was not his first time in the role). The rest of the cast is pretty ... Read More:

Some of us were disappointed by Funny Lady, the picture, after Funny Girl. Barbra looked amazing, of course, but the picture didn't have the oomph that Funny Girl did (except in the "How Lucky Can You Get" number.) Meanwhile, I still decided I needed the soundtrack and I'm extremely thrilled that I bought it! The CD is simply amazing- I've already listened to it twice today. The score is really wonderful. It's fun and silly and serious and Barbra sounds f***ing amazing. Buy it. Now. Added bonus are liner notes by Barbra's self-proclaimed biggest fan: the real Linda Richman!
