Released the year I was born, 1963, "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" became the album which best represents a turbulent time in America. Put this cd on, for those of us who spent at least a part of our lives in those stormy years, the album evokes a lot of memories, and a lot of feelings, particularly about the America we could've become before Kennedy fell, before Viet Nam, before King fell, before we lost our innocense.

The first track "Blowin' in the Wind" became the anthem of the day, redone and popularized by Peter, Paul, and Mary. Yet the original carries such weight that did not carry over. I find this Zep album to be a slight detour from the previous four albums.
Oh don't worry about it straying too far from the main theam of Led Zepplin. It dose keep close to the path although songs like Dyer Maker and The Crung may have you scratching your head. Why Robert Plant decided to write a ragae love soug,I just can't for the life of me figure out where his brain want. The album makes up for it's mushiness in songs like The Ocean(definaly a good sign of things to come in future albums) Probibly my most favorite song on the album aside from The Song Remains the Same is Dancing Days. Augustana don't exactly break new ground with "Can't Love, Can't Hurt," but that's not a bad thing by any stretch. I was not familiar with the band before this record, but upon hearing "Sweet and Low" I took a chance and purchased the CD, and I was not disappointed. The songs are tight, melodic, and filled with memorable hooks. The singing and musicianship are first-rate. It's early to say for sure, but Augustana show signs that they could become a classic mainstream American rock band, a la Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Augustana is proof that you don't have to be all emotionally tortured and lyrically obscure to make great music, despite what most music critics seem to think. Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds always put on a great show, this performance is no different. What makes this so fun to watch over and over is the quality of the video/sound. It's fantastic. You see so much detail, it's almost like being there. Minus the wonderful aromas... Blu-Ray was meant to deliver high quality video and audio. This one does. You will not be disappointed.

OCTOBER has some real stand out tracks on it; I'm enjoying them more than ever before. In fact, i haven't listened to this album in decades until now, and I am surprised how much I love a lot of the songs. Perhaps in part due to how much better the music sounds than it did on my original vinyl and CD. The same team that re-mastered JT and BOY, and WAR, Arnie Acosta and Cheryl Engels at Bernie Grundman Mastering, did this one, and they did a wonderful job, IMO. Not too loud, thank goodness, and really open and clear, and with details I never noticed before.

This is my favorite bonus CD so far, because I love all the live performances. It is great fun to compare the live versions of songs to their studio counterparts. And, as all have already said, how cool to have ... Read More:

I thoroughly enjoyed the CD. However, someone got hold of my credit card info & charged over $600.00 on Amazon.com. Fortunately, my credit card company noticed the charges, informed me & put a block on any subsequent charges. Needless to say, I'm a little "gun-shy" after the experience. I was able to recoup the bogus charges but I had to create a new account, obtain a new credit card, etc. Any suggestions?

Well..i've never written a review on AMZN before. I am an absolute music afficianado and am a Grateful Dead fanatic. I would say that I have in my collection every single important 60's and 70's albums created (from Zep, Beatles, Floyd, all Dylan, Stones, Who, Allmans, Neil, Hendrix, Dead, and the zillion other important contributions worldwide).
