Another great album, though it might not be able to match its predecessor. The songs are all good and fine - the hit title track, another one of Al's smooth orchestrated soul songs; the mildly funky "Stand Up," the wonderful "Have You Been Making Out O.K.?," which has Al's voice in top form, the slightly menacing sexual energy of "Here I Am (Come and Take Me)," and "You Oughta Be with Me," which has one of Al's best melodies and a fine performance from guitarist Mabon Hodges; there are some interesting string arrangements in places ("Your Love is Like the Morning Sun"), and I even like the two country covers ("Funny How Time Slips Away," "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry") because they don't sound a thing like country songs - instead, they're done in ... Any lover of Motown, Marvin Gaye, or soulful music has to have this CD compilation. The recording and sound transfer does justice to Gaye's clear vocals. Besides having all the essential hits "What's Going on?", "I Heard it Through the Grapevines", etc. it has two additional gems that you won't find anywhere else. There is a beautiful rendition of "You Are Everything" that Marvin did with Diana Ross and a very rare Marvin Gaye cover of "Abraham & Martin & John" which is the best version of the song I have ever heard. Even if you have all of Marvin Gaye's hits on other collections, buy this disc if only for those two inclusions. Just wonderful!

This CD brings back so many memories. I have listened to this more than once since my purchase and there are a few songs that I like to hear over and over! This is one of the best collections I have seen in quite some time. If you are a Four Tops fan, then this is the one to buy!

If it sounds as futuristic as it dose now, imagine what heads were thinking in 72'. One of Steveland's more electric, "tripy" albums. Still, nothing less than beautiful!!!!

There is not a single bad song on this CD. It contains all the favorite titles that made Martha and the Vandellas such a fantastic girl group. The clarity is first rate. I pop it into my CD player whenever I feel the need to groove along to some of the best music around.

If anything, this CD brings home the fact that Martha and the Vandellas, along with other top female groups like the Shangri-Las and the Supremes showed the world that the gals could provide all-male groups with some stiff competition.

If you like Martha and company at all, you cannot go wrong by purchasing this fine and truly Ultimate Collection.
