Well, I see that David Crowder himself already chimed in with a comment on another review here. Perhaps we'll be graced with his presence on this one as well.
I've been a huge DC*B fan since the time "Can You Hear Us" was first placed on Christian bookstore shelves across the country. The band has always offered something fresh compared to the rest of the current market / industry, and I applaud them for staying true to who they are and what they desire to be.
The problem for me with Remedy and the Remedy Club tour is that who they are and perhaps what they're aspiring to be, just isn't my cup-of-tea anymore. This isn't their fault, I'm just not as interested in their more recent recordings and creativity as I was ... Read More:

This cd rocks! This is Toby at his finest. All his best on one cd plus some greats from dcTalk. The dvd of the concert is great. I listen to this all the time. If you are a fan of TMac, this should be your next purchase.

This band is starting to confuse me. I don't understand this direction. Yes, they did promise to get heavier, and they did, but to me it comes at a cost. This kinda album is good if you are the type of person who listens to it passivly, listening to the music, but not the message. The songs meant nothing to me, it dosen't sound arranged well, and there was nothing to grab hold of you. When underoath released "they're only chasing safety," that was an interesting album, full of technical music, wonderful singing/screaming, and the music was fun to listen to. This album sounds rushed, and the sound seems like they made it heavy just to be heavy, with little arrangement. There's not much to keep you tuned into this album much after the second ... I just realized lots of his album covers as well as DC Talk's are blatantly showing their free masons belonging.
Toby Mac is an Illuminati (high ranked free mason like Jay-Z and so many others that r part of our daily lives. The Portable Sound cover is the very obvious symbol of the pyramid and the all seeing eye (stylized of course). This symboil is everywhere: Eiffel Tower, back of 1 dollar bill, Israel Logo etc... You can google "illuminati architecture"
You can see the all seeing eye in DC Talk covers as well, go to Amazon for some blatant examples:
[...]
Once you know how to recognize free masons symbols you will see it's everywhere (like CBS logo, the all seeing eye)...all this helps ... Read More:

This is a great snap shot of the legend that is Johnny Cash. It has some of his best hits, and some classic historical songs. The last track "Hurt", Trent Reznor may have the rights to it but Cash owns it!!! Peroid!!!

What can I say... I absolutely love Hillsong's music and style of worship, so I just had to add this album to my Gospel/Christian Music arsenal. There are a variety of tracks and I'm sure you'll love them all.
This album is the total package and what I've been waiting for for a while now. If you love to worship, if you love to Praise God, this is the Album for you.
Also if you want to get the full effect of each performance, Get the DVD. Note: Some parts from the DVD are NOT on the CD. When you get it, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Watch it alone, watch it with friends, just WATCH IT! Truly inspiring and amazing to see so many people (young people) praising our God.

I have to admit that I have not heard "Hymned no. 1" so I can't compare this effort to its predecessor. However, the New-Orleans influenced arrangements on this CD are tastefully done, with a variety that includes the Harry Connick, Jr. style of arrangement, pure Dixieland, swampier Dr. John influence as well as some styles not steeped in bourbon street. I was pleasantly surprised as song after song brought a smile to my face. If you were brought up singing hymns in church, but appreciate more contemporary fare musically, you could not ask for a better collection. Bart and producer Brown Bannister manage to freshen up these wonderful songs without the smarmy "adult contemporary" sound that seems to permeate the CCM scene. It's not a rock 'n' roll record ...
