I have been a big customer of this CD series. I have bought every one of them from 1996-2005. The first few CDs in the series were not that great, because they would have a few contemporary christian songs and then they had a whole bus load of the crummy Gospel music. However, the WoW 1999 was the first year where they really said o.k. lets lose the gospel and stick to the contemporary rock/pop/alternative/rap Christian music. This set includes Third Days wonderful song "Agnus Dei" originally recorded by Michael W. Smith, Third Day takes it into a new genre Rock. Then there is The W's The Devil is Bad a hip swing tune about the temptation of the devil in our lives. Then we have one of the first appearances of Nichole Nordeman and Jeniffer ... Read More:

much better than epiphany. yea it would be nice if the lyrics mention Christ more but he especially makes up for that in the last track, which is brilliant!! its obvious he has gotten closer to God and you really don't find quite so much wordliness as the other. some bumpy spots in the road of course. but listening to this tape i dont get the wig-wag alarm of low air-pressure (air brake) signal of guilt as with the other. if it weren't for this more recent CD , the other one would of left a bad taste in my mouth about Manafest. Excellent rapping talents and music too!

I'm afraid I'm seem to be in the minority here, but I really don't enjoy this particular Wow Gospel album. In fact, in comparison to all of them so far, including the latest one, this is the one I enjoy the least. There are a lot of songs that I can't get into because they aim to be more "fluffy" than substantial, especially on disc 1. This wow is simply one I cannot keep listening too, except for Shackles, Closer, and Rejoice (especially Closer by Lamar Campbell and co, which really ministers to me). Once by Londa Larmond is another favorite. If I would have gotten this when it came out, I would have been listening to this song everyday. But since I have her album, I must admit that the novelty has worn off somewhat.

The 1989 debut cd by DC Talk really doesn't sound anything like the DC Talk that we know about today. Tobymac, Tait, And K-max all made their first statement to the world as musicians on this pretty much forgettable album. Instead of the challenging and enduring power of their music that's found on their later releases, We instead get 8 tracks of mostly outdated and very cheesy 80s hip-hop. On this album, DC Talk sounds like a cross between Early MC Hammer, Run DMC, And Kool Moe Dee. If you must have this album, You will at least enjoy 2 tracks, Which are ''Spinnin Round'' [By far the greatest song on this album] and ''Final Days''. This is pretty much an embarrassment for DC Talk considering how far they've come in the albums that've followed this release, ... Read More:

I'm from Ohio, I'm 15 and this is about the time I was born. This is some of the most amazing music ever. I listen to alot of types of music, including secular music like Jay-Z and NaS. But for me, nothing compares to the lyrics and emotions expressed through this old school west coast style. This cd is their best up next to Gang Affiliated. Demon Killa is a great great song. Along with Y Cain't Da Homiez Hear Me (Remix).

This follow-up to the 1989 debut is slightly better, But still pales in comparison to DC Talk's later efforts. A lot of tbe songs on here are very silly and sound very outdated in many cases. But, There are a few positives about this cd. ''Walls'', ''No More'', and ''Talk It Out'' are the only reccomendable songs on here. If you like cheesy 80's and early 90's rap music, This cd is for you. If not, Go buy a Gospel Gangstaz cd or a Lecrae cd instead. Oh, And that classic that i said this album proceeded is the next DC Talk album, Free At Last. Hope the review helped. Be blessed

Anthony Evans has put together one of the very best Christian releases I have ever listened to. A perfect blend of melody, lyrics, and God-centered attitude is found on each track - truly a release that is difficult to choose a favorite among, since all the songs are so good. This is one of the few CDs I have (and I have almost 3,000) that can be listened to from start to finish without skipping a track. What is most delightful, however, is the personal identification I feel with what Anthony is saying about his faith - if you have "put off the old man" and are a new creature in Jesus Christ, there is no way that every song on this release will not resonate deeply within you.
A few comments on the other reviews posted of "Letting Go" - I agree completely ... Read More:

First off he throws down a song unlike any Christian artist. I am new to the Tobymac music this year and can tell you I love it. His sound/genre seems to change depending on the song.
Like most I am skeptical to buy remix cds. They are most usually not good. This one is really really good, even better than his other remix cd.

This dvd is one of the best hip hop gospel that I've seen. His lyrics are biblically sound and he seems serious about what he's doing. The band is cool too. The whole dvd isn't live though, a few songs are done with track
