These guys are very good, even though they are a christian group. From my experience alot of christian groups just don't cut it when it comes to producing hardline music, but Grits are a different story. If you like Outkast you would definatly like Grits. Check out Cross Movement, KJ-52, and John Reuben as well if you like Grits but these guys are very good.

Tonex is so out of the box, he is a genius for titling this "movie" as such. I call it a movie, even though its a live concert, its organized by genre of type of gospel music. You can tell he put some serious time into the editing of this dvd. Also, the concert is very well choreographed and executed. Some of the songs is over my head, but I did enjoy the "slower" songs as well as the older songs he sang. This is worth having in your dvd collection if you love good contemporary gospel music.

This is an awesome collection by a great band.
I think that dc Talk is one of the best groups in music history - of any genre. This CD contains many of their finest songs. As with any greatest hits collection, there will be disagreements about what should be included. There are two songs on this CD that I think should not be and there are others that I think that should have been included, but were not.
As one who has all of their albums, this was really not a necessary addition to my collection, so I bought it for my daughter.
Not only do they have a great sound, they are able to do it in a variety of musical styles. They also do it while having meaningful Christian lyrics.

Anthony Evans has put together one of the very best Christian releases I have ever listened to. A perfect blend of melody, lyrics, and God-centered attitude is found on each track - truly a release that is difficult to choose a favorite among, since all the songs are so good. This is one of the few CDs I have (and I have almost 3,000) that can be listened to from start to finish without skipping a track. What is most delightful, however, is the personal identification I feel with what Anthony is saying about his faith - if you have "put off the old man" and are a new creature in Jesus Christ, there is no way that every song on this release will not resonate deeply within you.
A few comments on the other reviews posted of "Letting Go" - I agree completely ... Read More:

The music of DC Talk is timeless. I bought this as a gift for my friend and he is thoroughly enjoying it. Brings us back to our childhood.

I'm typically not into this type of music at all, but I think that's just a testament to how strong this record is. I'm more into Metallica, or Sufjan Stephens, or Weezer, or Wu Tang... Gospel has always been a pretty boring spot on my musical spectrum. This album really turned my head around. The spanish guitar flair, his incredibly strong melodies, lovely Christian lyrics without being cheesy or tired, and a really wonderful male voice. He doesn't push too hard and come off fake like many gospel acts I've heard. Rather, he has an almost calm, but unwavering voice that takes a strong lead in each track. Worth a listen at least, but I'd recommend a purchase for anyone with an open mind.

Hip Hope Hits '08 is the next chapter in the fledging Gotee compilation series. It would be ranked third under Hip Hope '05 and '06.
Highlights are Gotee's dynamic duo, Grits (featuring former labelmate and LA Symphony member, Pigeon John) on the club banger, "Open Bar", LA Symphony, the funny KJ-52's tune, "Do Yo Thang", the socially-conscious DJ Maj, teaming with The Katinas' John Katina (from Maj's compilation, Speckled Goats II) & Diverse City's GabeReal on "All My People", Manafest's "Bounce", new groups Group 1 Crew with the bouncy, "Let It Roll", Just.Live's unusually-titled, "Bolla Atcha Hoy (The New Slang)" and Tobymac's band, Diverse Citizens with "Party (All Citizens Out)". I believe that some of the other songs were somewhat okay, but it could've been ... Read More:

I have always been a fan of Da Truth/Cross movement since his first album, but each album steps up the game and this is no exception! This CD (as are his older cd's) are a great way to minister to anyone who loves hip-hop. The beats and creativity are off the chain! I Highly recommend purchasing - and I look forward to the next album!

To say this is a good album would be doing it an injustice. Delirious? have historically been a very consistent band and this album is no exception. The disc is filled with songs that explore the some of the questions & challenges we all face at some point (Deeper, Promise, King or Cripple), deep, passionate worship songs (What a Friend, All The Way, August 30th, King of Fools, Hands of Kindness, Sanctify), and some upbeat worship tracks (Revival Town, Louder than the Radio [not on UK version, remixed from Cutting Edge for the US vesion]). Worthy of mention are:
White Ribbon Day: a U2-esque call for peace. Fits very well with the events of Sept 11, 2001, and the recent war in Afghanistan and Iraq. The electric guitars, while simple, are very, very effective. ... Read More:
