This really is a wonderful DVD that hits all the basics of preschool education such as discriminating between colors and shapes, learning to count, recognizing letters, etc. My one criticism is that it presents a world so idealized that few children will be able to relate to it. No one except Baby Bop for a few seconds has a problem, no one stops smiling. It's relentlessly cheerful to the point that you wonder if the producers have ever read any child psychology that discusses that huge and immense fears and aggressive urges that children have to learn to master. I have a 7 and 5 year old and this is pretty much all we listen to. This is the first Kidz Bop that we've had. It keeps everyone happy and it's not THAT annoying. I'm hoping number 14 is just as good.

This cd is a miracle. I have a four year old and a six year old who have a very difficult time falling asleep and allowing themselves to relax. It is a struggle every night. If I didn't see this for myself, I would have never believed it. Within ten minutes, both of my children were fast asleep. Lori's voice is very relaxing and I can't wait to order another cd.

As a mother of two kids (ages 8 and 6), I have read nearly all of the Roald Dahl books multiple times in the past few years. We all love his writing - his stories are usually quite dark and yet offer a lot of humor, warmth and love as well. James and the Giant Peach is a wonderful story and well worth reading with your children. Mind you, there is the usual dose of Dahl meanness and nastiness but it is great story with many wonderful characters, budding relationships, and ultimately a very happy ending.

I was thus incredibly disappointed when we borrowed this DVD from our local library. The screenwriter took far too much liberty in changing things. I found it crude and insulting to the memory of Roald Dahl. If you have read ... Read More:

We were very disappointed in this CD. As soon as we received it my daughter played it. It played 3 songs and stopped. We tried other CD players in the house and it didn't play at all. There is nothing wrong with any of the CD players and nothing visibly wrong with the CD. My 9 yr old was very disappointed as was I.
