This is the best Michael Hoppe album. I use it in my Reflexology sessions and my clients and I love it. After hearing this one, I bought several other Michael Hoppe albums, but this one takes you to a deeper place than any others.

Clannad's album FUAIM, released in 1982, marked the end of their purely traditional phase, here the band began to use rock and jazz elements. FUAIM, "sound" in Irish, consists of only traditional songs, most in the Irish language, but modern instrumention is added.

FUAIM's standouts are "An tUll", featuring excellent traditional drumming, and "The Green Fields of Gaothdobhair", a sweetly sung paen to the band's hometown in Ireland's County Donegal. The long and complex "Ni La Na Gaoithe La Na Scoilb?" manages to combine modern instrumentation with traditional instruments that doesn't compromise the original style of the band. Michael Flatley's Feet of Flames

It is beautiful song and music. Celtic Woman is one of many music and artist's of Irish type music. Enya is most famous, Clannard (I learned this is Enya's family), Secret Garden, Maire Brennan (another big surprise, is Enya's sister), there are many others that I love, explore new music!

Karan Casey's voice is the main reason for buying this album. What else is there? Well, there are sets of jigs and reels that are as jiggy and reelly as you could wish for, if you like that kind of thing. Also, Iris DeMent joins Casey on "Song of Choice" and it is great to hear these two fine and distinctive voices together, even though the song itself is unremarkable. It would be wonderful to hear more of them as a duo.

The weak points are the two songs in Gaelic -- which gain nothing by being sung in the original (unless of course you speak the language) -- and the dreadful La Bruxa, a painful squeezebox effort that might earn a busker a few centimes (or Euros) outside the Paris Metro, but does not belong here.
