Didn't happen!
The same exact disc as Memory. Just as dull and uninspired. The mandatory happy opening song. The obligatory spooky second song.
Nothing new or innovative here.
Get her first three. Enya is just cashing in at this point.

From start to finish, and absolute masterpiece.
One of the most brilliant and original albums ever.
Don't skip this one. If you own only one Enya cd it should be this one.
Enya earned her place as an innovator and a force to be reckoned with on this one.
A piece of music history.

Nothing to add really to all the glowing reviews here. I first heard them on a St Patricks Day special on TV and immediately bought the CD. The harmonies have the rich layers of the old Crosby Stills and Nash days but done in the Irish style that is foot-stomping, mournful, reflective, spiritual and ultimately triumphant. Just an incredible CD, you won't be disappointed.

I love how with every album Loreena McKennitt puts out, her album is the results of her travels all over the world. On her album THE BOOK OF SECRETS (which would be her last studio album for several years before AN ANCIENT MUSE), Loreena explores the history of the celts. When I listen to the cd, I feel like I am getting a history lesson in celtic history. I like that Loreena writes music that is never insulting or trite.Although the album version of "The Mummer's Dance" is a far cry from the radio version, it is nonetheless still a joy to listen to. The album version is longer and slower while the radio versoin is shorter and more upbeat. Me thinks radio wanted a version that would appeal to a broader audience. If that was the case it worked ... This is my favorite Enya music for a long time. I enjoy all her sounds, but this album is special. It's really her best for a long time. I recommend this CD.

Enya sitting on a golden throne?
A little pretentious I think.
Enya conquered the world with Sheppard Moon and Watermark.
I think she got too cocky and careless with this one.
She tried to replicate the sound of those albums and comes up short.
The disc comes across and dull and uninspired.
I was hoping the next disc would be a return to form.
Sadly, Enya seems content to make the same album over and over and over................. each one as unmemorable and uninspired as the one before it.

I became a fan of Loreena McKennitt since "The Book of Secrets"."Nights from the Alhambra" is simply excellent-For the music as well the DVD.Watching her in concert is simply great along with her band of musicans as well hearing the cd's.It was a shame her last live cd-"Live in Paris and Toronto" did'nt have a dvd.This more makes up for it."Nights from the Alhambra" came in a diga-pak with the discs spread out-beautifully packaged.If you want to see and hear Loreena Mckennitt in concert-This is it.Her Celtic Music simply beautiful.
