Others have given five gold stars to this DVD - I would like to add my own. This is an opportunity to open a window and view traditional Irish music and dancing as it was done by groups of people and individuals who dance for the pure enjoyment of it. It is not done by professionals, but by ordinary, every day citizens of "Erin's Green Isle". My hat is off to the Irish public television station who went out and recorded this bit of Irish life. I highly reconmmend this DVD - my guess is you will not be able to resist getting out of your easy chair and dancing along with the Irish folk.

I find it very short - the price is the same as for a full CD. I got my favorite song but the CD length of play is short. As I recall it was only three songs long.

I am an Enya fan from her first days and have all her albums - however it seems that the albums she is coming out with these days are re-mastered and nothing really new. This album is beautiful - but with only one track out of the four which is new - a bit disappointing.

My family and I love all of the Winter Solstice cds but far and away III is the best of the bunch. Songs like "In the Bleak Midwinter" and "Snow is Lightly Falling" are so simple and haunting and stir a soul-recognition of this time of year that few other songs can match. We start playing it in late November and continue right thru to early spring. We will have to replace it soon as we are wearing it out. I cannot imagine December without it.

We enjoyed the fact that this CD follows the tradition of pub songs and ballads. My husband and I surprisingly liked the ballads as much or more than the pub songs. Only 1 song has tonal quality because the singer forgot the words and the backup musicians don't come through strong enough; but that actually adds character to it since you know it is not being performed in a sterile recording booth somewhere. Enjoyed it!
