Natalie is wondrous. See her live any chance you get. Her playing is sublime, her love for her music infectious. And she rocks. She works within the tradition and without it -- being continuously inventive and innovative while remaining true to her core. Only great musicians do this. And she works with other great musicians -- special mentions to Matt MacIsaac (pipes) and Jens Kruger (banjo) on this CD. My Natalie CD's fill my car's auto-changer. BUT... there is a real aberration on this disc: a horrible, mooing, moaning version of Danny Boy sung by Mike McDonald, who sounds like a sick sheep stuck at the bottom of a well. What a hack! It jerks you from Natalie heaven to some cheesy Oirish tourist dump. Unbearable. Thank God for ... Read More:

I brought the Some Devil CD after watching a DVD with DMB's music.
I ran into Stand Up and I was interested as I liked what I heard on Some Devil and the picture on this Cd promised like music, so I thought. I gave it away. It really dissappointed me. I don't know that it's worth buying more of his music. Cult music is usually for specific groups and I'm not a groupee.

This is a band I have newly discovered and boy am I glad I did. If you like witty folk music with an irish/scottish twist, then they are for you. The tongue in check songs make me smile while I am driving to work.

This one is just as good as all the others I have. Her music is so peaceful and wonderful to listen to. If you haven't bought any of her works, then do so, you will enjoy it also!

Phil Coulter's "Lake of Shadows" is a collection of easy-listening Celtic-y piano pieces that are simply and beautifully evocative. Coulter relies on short repeated motifs that start simply and eventually expand as pipes, bass and synthetic instruments are added. To my ear, this is precisely the kind of slow reflective music that are common in soundtracks for misty dramas about Ireland. Coulte also throws in renditions of well-known musical themes, such as "For Those In Peril On The Sea" and "The Flight Of The Earls". Fans of "Enya" will find his style familiar (as perhaps Coulter fans found of Enya).
Sweet and very nice, but probably won't find a place on my iPod.

This album is lovely. Fionnuala's voice is soothingly angelic. She creates an elevating calm that touches the soul beautifully. "Whispers of Love" is an excellent choice when I want to create a calm setting-whether in the car, in yoga class or at home.

This is a two-disk set comprised of a greatest hits volume and a live CD. Both are very good engineering and the pair is worth the price.
If you saw "PS I love you" you heard the best song of this collection, "Fairytale of New York" was played at the wake and not released on the soundtrack of the movie. Kirsty MacColl is simply an amazing singer and this is one of the best of a wonderful set of songs from both the 'best' and the live' CDs. I'd normally gripe about a repeat, but how can you?
"The Irish Rover" with the Dubliners is another highlight of the live set. The recording was made at Brixton Academy and that's one live set I wish I could have attended! Great engineering, too, for a live CD.

I truely enjoyed this CD. It is the second Celtic CD I have purchased. I also enjoyed the name of the CD, it seems I am always herding my cats around the yard!
