An extraordinary album. I'm new to Marc Ribot, but this album is full of surprises--witty, innovative guitar that is melodic and always listenable. Ribot's guitar playing is at the heart of every tune and carries the weight of this mostly instrumental album. The Cuban style echoes Manuel Galban but is (not surprisingly) less traditional. This album will satisfy people who love guitar and enjoy Latin music, but you needn't be a Latin music aficianado to appreciate it.

Beautiful!!!!!SPIN ONE ON THIS !!I found out about these wonderful gentleman by digging in my fathers crate of albums that I still have 2 this day!I recommend this album and at least try their first efort until the Welcome Home album ,before they started to incorporate DISCO IN JAZZ???!!!

I love Gilberto Santa Rosa's voice. He is the King of SALSA not the Prince.
Must of the songs on this record became Num.1 hits. He is the best romantic Salsa singer of all times, his songs are meaningful, not bad nasty stuff like other sing now a days and dare to call it music. His music is about meaninful romantic lyrics and he pocesses a beautiful voice.

I never knew a whole lot about Monty Alexander other than he's played with Sinatra and Dizzy and the bunch. But this album....well, after hearing it on HD TV, I was actually late for work because I had to go order it immediately. Great versions of Marley songs which are always simple and pleasant to the ears. Especially the version of "forever lovin' Jah." Highly recommended.

Well done! Catchy rhythms, nice tunes, an interesting change from what I usually listen to. This CD will make a nice addition to one's collection, particularly for those times when you find you're tired of "what you usually listen to." Lively, jaunty tunes an excellent pick-me-up for mopey or rainy (or cleaning) days, as well. Recommend!
