I remembered listening to this album when I was a kid, and HAD to find it when my son was born. The songs are fun for dancing around the living room, or singing loudly in the car, and aren't so annoyingly repetitive as other children's albums I've come across. Tons of fun, and great for memories!
Release Date October 10, 1998
I bought this because I recently heard the old song "Games That Lovers Play" by James Last, I don't how long since I first it-too many years, and I did't have an old LP to copy to a CD. So I bought this CD and I was not dissapointed. Good music is timeless.

Visiting my daughter & her precious friend in ALBQ, they played Antony while cooking dinner. I was beautifully lost until the 3rd song, and finally asked " who is this?". Like many of us that create art about our pain, journey and forgiveness, it was like I was a child hanging on to a window pane, watching my own life dance and for some reason every thing was ok now. There is a time and place for everything, that was my time to discover this fabulous pouring out of warmth. Antony's vibrations and energy open the bottle of mist that breathes deep in the heart, releasing the suffering breath by breath.

This is the great (and quite possibly the greatest) Billie Holiday at her peak, singing "Fine and Mellow", "I'll Get By", "Billie's Blues", "I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues"...
I'm not such a big fan of "Strange Fruit", although I recognize and commend its political and ethical significance.
It is only a pitty the fine musicians, such as Frankie Newton on trumpet or Vic Dickenson on trombone were not put to a better use...
Billie's earlier recordings with the Prez, Teddy Wilson, Roy Eldridge and other jazz giants prove how even she can grow in good company; her late recordings, where she had very little voice left also speak for this; on Sound of jazz she delivered Fine and Mellow as fine and mellow as anything she had ever recorded, ... Although I love the French CDs of Charles Aznavour, these English hits are outstanding as well. Some of the best songs on this CD are "I'll Be There", "I Didn't See the Time Go By," "How Sad Venice Can Be", and Ave Maria. I am amazed at how great he sings in French, English, Spanish and Russian.

This is an very special gem. I love Mr. Shorts handling of the music. His voice is as nimble as the feet of Astaire and soothing and beautiful as cool water on a sizzliing summer day. For my birthday last year My partner and I dined at the Carlyle it was pure joy. We could feel the warmth and spirit of Mr. Short everywhere. If you love American songbook as much as We do this will be a welcome addition to the family.

This is a lovely collection of Ms. Holiday's finest. My dad wanted a copy of the 20th Century Masters Collection I have of hers and since Christmas was coming up, I decided to buy him his own copy of the disc rather than just burning him a copy. I came to [...] and looked for that disc, but saw a ad for this one - this not only had all of the songs on the other album, but a whole other CD worth, too! Plus, it has a great DVD full of concert clips and interviews. My dad was stoked when he got his present and has been listening to it nonstop for a few days now :)

Brel was the most legitimate Ambassador of the irreverence made song. His moods, inspiration and heartfelt expression far beyond his dissipate existence are solid arguments to think to acquire this selection.
One more thing: Will you able to forget once you listen: Ne me quite pas, for the rest of your life?

Truly, the creative symbiosis that arises from the inspired songwriter, the talented arranger and the gifted interpreter is best exemplified in Sinatra's albums for Capitol Records of the late 1950s.
