This is one of Michael Feinstein's earliest recordings (maybe his first?), but it stands up and stands out as one of the best cabaret performance recordings around. Songs like "Old Friend" and "Show Tune" just aren't usually performed.

If you like Michael Feinstein now, or just really good cabaret, give this one a listen.

I absolutely love this album. It's been out for a while, but in my opinion it's one of the greatest albums of Gershwin music! Any Gershwin fan must own this album!!

When I was a small child she was popular and we heard her on the radio and on Ed Sullivan. Now so many years later I rediscovered her music thanks to the movie "Le Vie en Rose." As an older adult, I appreciate her ageless talent. This album is a total pleasure, I recommend it highly.

This could have been 5 stars. I put four because, I'm no expert on french songs. But this appears to be an excellent selection. Lucienne Boyer's "Parlez-moi d'amour" which I've obviously heard before was a revelation -- I forgot how good it was -- I play it over and over. A good introduction, I think. By the way, the songs and recordings are mostly from the 30's.

The first time I heard Billie Holiday's voice was when my parents were visiting friends. I looked over their record collection and asked if I might play this Billie Holiday one. (I had never heard of her.) From the first song to the last, I was crazy about her. The cut called "You're My Thrill" was unlike anything I had ever heard before. All these years later, I never forgot that first experience and looked for this music at Amazon. Lucky for me, I found it.

Charles Aznavour - Greatest Golden Hits

Although I love the French CDs of Charles Aznavour, these English hits are outstanding as well. Some of the best songs on this CD are "I'll Be There", "I Didn't See the Time Go By," "How Sad Venice Can Be", and Ave Maria. I am amazed at how great he sings in French, English, Spanish and Russian.

Highly recommended!!
