Arguably for so many artists, the songs have to be vital to what makes them good or bad on the radio and television. For somebody like Sting, he has been one of the most definitive, and meloncollie singer/songwriters of all time. His songs today like Every Breath You Take still capture hearts everywhere. His 2000 single, Desert Rose, the second track from his album Brand New Day is one of the most infectious and driven songs of the past several years. The song is not just upbeat, it is hypnotic to Sting & Cheb Mami's vibes. I still love this song today, because it is just great to dance to, and a joy to still hear today. I just honestly wish Sting can come back with another record soon. His songs are very unique.

Alright, here's a band with an original sound and lirycs... Not to mention the amazing drummer ! The best track ? "why father" Love that tune right there. I seen them live at hellfest and i was not bored or disapointed at all so if you dont have walls of jericho's " aday & a thousand years" go get it now... I aslo recommend the band "still breathing" for those who enjoy listining to female vocalist in hardcore music and can't stand that .... band known as kittie buy either walls of jericho or still breathing!

This CD of the late Mary Wells is one to have in archives.

I always remember listening to Mary Wells on the radio as a kid back in the 1980's. Her song "My Guy" is heard alot. The one I do like alot is "You lost the sweetest boy". Which I heard it in 1989. Awesome writers.

I know that Mary Wells was out in the 1960's. Great singer and very beautiful person.

I remember back in summer of 1990 that she had throat cancer. Everyone was shocked.

Of course in mid-summer 1992. Mary had went on to heaven and will always be remembered forever.

I'll keep this CD for years to come.

Mary's legacy will go on.

Even though she's up there watching us that are fans of her.

Don't Go Away

Don't go away is a good song, one of the best from the not so popular Be Here Now LP. All the songs were good, just over produced however. The title track of this single is no different, would have sounded a lot better stripped down but here it is as it sounds on the album. The real reason to buy this song is for the 3rd track, 'sad song'. From The definitely maybe era it is one of my fave all time Oasis songs and available for the first time on this single. Unless you can get Definitely maybe on vinyl. Warchild version of fade away sounds good in its acoustic here too.

Winter by Tori Amos contains some of her best b-sides. The Pool is a short and haunting ballad, Take to the Sky is coy and brilliant, Sweet Dreams is pure fun with perculiar lyrics, and Upside Down just gives me chills. The song Winter is also a beautiful track taken from her debut album, Little Earthquakes. This is one b-side worth owning if you are a die-hard Tori fan. She rocks!

This is really not for everybody. Really, just get their two albums and you won't need this! Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Coldplay fan and Clocks and Yellow were some of the highlights of their career. But, if you have their two albums, you don't need to buy this. If you are getting into this great band, just buy Parachutes and A Rush. This is pretty much useless unless you want to complete your collection OR you want the live version of Yellow (which is good). That's all.

This disc is consistently great all the way through, I love all the songs. They really trimmed away the excesses on this one - no filler at all. Yeah there's only two songs, that's the joke. But seriously this disc did represent a huge turning point for the band, a new direction away from teen angst and towards more serious songwriting. Both of these songs are still in regular play and make it to my mixes of favorite songs all these years later. They fit with the vibe and feel of No Code, my favorite Pearl Jam full-length which came out the following year. Yet even No Code had its weak spots and filler. This one, by virtue of being a single, didn't have space for it. Now I wonder, why is it out of print? It's a classic and should be heard by anyone remotely interested in this band.
