This cd makes me remeber the final year of ym high school, since they played this cd at my senior prom. And that was best year of my life, excluding the year i been with my gf. But this cd has music that will make your car shake and boom. Plus has many good solid beats to dance to if your throwing a party.

I don't appreciate the patronizating tone of the liner notes and I'm taken aback by reviewers who use words like syrupy to explain away the colorful diversity of 70s AM radio. I don't buy that for music to be cool it has to be loud rock and can't be soft ear candy. That's FM audio cop out conditioning by pop critics who think only bad is good and hard sounds are hip. Not so unless one has narrow minded taste in pop music.
This series is notorious for being inconsistent. And then some. Too many volumes are filled with trivial, frivolous filler. Yet here Torn Between Two Lovers, Don't Give Up On Us, The Things We Do For love and Gonna Fly Fly Now are 4 major hits that make it worthy. They bring back memories when the world was a happier ... Have A Nice Day Volume 2 is a good installment in this 25 CD series. I like the music and the sound is very crisp and clear. I wish the album came with more than twelve songs on it; but overall the high quality control makes this a good CD for fans of `70s music.
The CD starts with a very strong, upbeat number by Edison Lighthouse entitled "Love Grows ( Where My Rosemary Goes)" This somewhat innocent love ballad celebrates the joys of love and Edison Lighthouse harmonizes very well. The melody is great. "Spirit In The Sky" rocks harder as Norman Greenbaum sings perfectly. The ladies on backup vocals sing well to bolster Norman's performance, too. "Spirit In The Sky" is sure to bring back memories.
The Marmalade switch to a much more reflective, ... Read More:

This album is laden with great talent, solid production and most of all fun, fun, fun! The songs are not just silly, they rock! Curious?
Like many other people I have had this album since it was released and have never gotten tired of it. This project could have so easily been soulless and stupid, but the bands featured really give it all they've got!
Here's a quick review of each track:
-The Tra-La-La Song: A high energy, alternative jam.
-Speed Racer: A high point for the album, Sponge really shreds on this song and gives it a lot of dimension with motor/guitar sounds.
-Sugar, Sugar: Very trippy, slower version of the song, with cute vocals.
-Scooby-Doo: An OK song, but not great...a little too long.
-Josie and ... Read More:

Love this kind of music - can't get enough - have most all of the CDs. Excellent New Jersey-based company with excellent foresight and retro-understanding for the best party and jazz combos. Excellent choice for any kind of day or evening, party or relaxation time.
Release Date October 20, 1992
This is the best of the series in my opinion. The Tom Petty original that opens the CD is worth the cost of the CD alone. It is the single best rock and roll Christmas song ever written. Ann and Nancy Wilson deliver a great version of Blue Christmas and the Randy Travis Jingle Bell Rock is the best version I have heard. Bon Jovi rocks, Luther adds a bit of great jazz and although I am not typically a fan of hers -- Sinead O'Conner delivers a beautiful version of "I believe in you". There are a few duds, including Run DMC and Michael Bolton, but the bulk of the CD has very strong performances making this a classic Christmas CD in my home.

Picked this CD out of the rack after not listening to it for years.
Los Lobos' Bertha interpretation is close to the original, but with a nice hint of accordion. Bruce Hornsby's Jack Straw is great, one can tell he played with the Dead many a time and I (for one ;-) think that he performed wonderfully with them over the years. Whatever you think of him, he can play piano.
Forget The Hashed Mellows' US Blues, what a disappointing straightforward rock-ish version that is. Elvis Costello's Ship of Fools is sort of interesting in the sense that he has some of Jerry's raspiness and I like the instrumentation.
Suzanne Vega's China Doll sounds like, well, a Vega tune, which isn't bad, but perhaps a bit dull. Happily her Cassidy is much livelier, certainly ... Read More:

Although considerably overpriced at $70 list, Amazon had this on sale for about $40 and that is a hell of a bargain. Great music and great sound for the era and then some. Rhino excels at this sort of thing and this is no exception. If you like doo-wop, keep an eye out for the next sale- or splurge if you can afford it.
