A wonderful CD of one of the best writers and performers of our time. The singing oozes with intensity. Also, not so bad to get 40 songs on one CD.
Release Date April 18, 2006
I had great expectations for this CD... most of them were met, but I was vastly disappointed with one of the principal singers: Reba McIntyre. I know she is a great comedic actress and a true star in the world of country music. But from the very first song she sings - and nearly everyone thereafter - her country stylings just struck me as WRONG for this part. She tends to "scoop" up to her notes - over and over. Again, that may be OK for country music, but not Rogers & Hammerstein... even if the role is supposed to be a young gal from the "country" (i.e. not a big city). Again, she is great in her realm and has done fun and admirable things on TV and in movies, but I found her singing style in this role annoying.

I love Nina, and I this is a great compilation of her music. There is something for everyone here, no matter what your musical tastes!
Release Date April 16, 2002
What a change from the stock-standard Broadway musical! A unique concept, with the two characters travelling chronologically opposing paths over the same 5 year relationship, and some clever, catchy and at times complex music creates a compelling show. It bears listening and re-listening repeatedly, with new details emerging with each encounter. Fabulous characterization by these two talented leads also. Bravo!

"Dreamer" was released 2002 on RCA's Bluebird label and stands as one Elias' best to date. Her amazing piano playing is not really the main focus her like on so many of her recordings, but she does play some great improvisations, though short in length. The string orchestrations are also very well done. Absolutely beautiful.
There are two highlights for me "Call Me" and "A House Is Not A Home." Those two songs are the worth the price of admission, but this is not to say that the whole album isn't great. "Call Me" features some of the lyrical improvisations from Michael Brecker I've ever heard. I'm not a fan of him at all, but am quite shocked to him play with lyricism. He has a great tone on this song as well.

Don't be fooled here. Friends appears twice, as it should but they are the same version. On the LP, the first version is entirely different from the version which closes the album. It is this last version that appears twice. And whatever you do, don't make the mistake of buying the mp3. They make it sound like it's your fault!!!
Release Date September 15, 1992
I bought this CD because I was in this show twice, once as a minor bit part and once as the Wicked Witch, then I directed the show. I had always held off on buying the CD because I knew how bad the movie was... even with such notable performers, it just flat out stunk.
Now it has been over 10 years since I last saw the show and I suddenly had "Ease on Down the Road" stuck on repeat in my skull. I hunted and finally found this cast recording, which I purchased immediately.
First - this album is 110% better than the movie, so breathe a sigh of relief there. The vocalists are all accomplished and very good at what they do. The music is spot on and doesn't drown out the vocalists (unlike some musicals I own).

I can be rather picky when it comes to Broadway musicals, but You're a Good Man Charlie Brown is at the top of my list along with Wicked and Phantom of the Opera. Mix great vocalists and performers with funny lyrics and catchy tunes, you've got You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. A light-hearted show, I would recommend this musical to anyone who loves Peanuts, Broadway, or hilarious and entertaining songs.

Rob Reiner's movie entitled When Harry Met Sally deserves the fine soundtrack it had; and this CD of songs based on the movie soundtrack will delight you, too. Sure, these renditions are not what you'll hear when you watch the movie; but this CD gives us plenty to be happy about anyway.
Harry Connick, Jr. was just hitting the big time when he was tapped for this film; and this CD proves he had great talent from the start. Even though he was a mere 21 at the time these songs were recorded, Harry displays a mature and polished sensitivity to the nuances in the lyrics of these songs. Harry croons wonderfully on this CD.
The CD opens with "It Had To be You" with Harry Connick, Jr. playing piano and singing the vocals. The big band arrangement by Marc Shaiman ... Read More:

Let's Talk About Love by Celine Dion is an album I used to have back in the day. I'll be honest I was a fan of Celine but not anymore, her lifeless voice and weird stage presence just completely turned me off after My Heart Will Go On became huge. Celine let the success of that song go to her head and she hasn't recorded a powerful album since. There are some good tracks on this album, but not brilliant. Immortality, Tell Him, To Love You More, and I Hate You Then I Love You are the standouts but that's pretty much it. This is a mixed bag, take it or leave it.
