It's all here. I have waited too long to get this music. Since seeing the show I was intrigued and captivated by the music and I am so happy the music is finally available! Outstanding musical performances by the entire cast, and yes, this music can be enjoyed even if you did not see the show, but have the slightest inking of the story.
Hunter Foster is amazing in this masterpiece of Musical Theater.

Dave Koz does a great job in bringing a jazzy and smooth touch to some of the greatest movie music that has been produced. Both versions of "The Shadow of Your Smile" are just perfect. And the "Pink Panther" theme is GREAT!!

When I first heard about this musical, I had absolutely no desire to go see it. How can you possibly turn such a gut-wrenching film into a musical? Well, you can. This album will bring you to Sunday Church and back from the first song to the last. It is a wonderful mix of sad, happy, self-realization, and love songs incorporating hopes, desires and memoirs of most characters.

Even if you have not seen the musical I recomend it. The inside notes give you just enough information to follow the story from song to song and even if you see the musical later, you will be able to focus on the staging and costuming (which are also fabulous) and maybe even sing along (just not too loud).

If you are a Johnny fan...you will love this cd. Being a fan since the beginning I think for recent times this is the best cd he has put out in a long time. Can listen to it over and over.

Don't be fooled here. Friends appears twice, as it should but they are the same version. On the LP, the first version is entirely different from the version which closes the album. It is this last version that appears twice. And whatever you do, don't make the mistake of buying the mp3. They make it sound like it's your fault!!!

I wanted to get the CD for the movie, but couldn't find one, so I bought this. I really wanted John Cullum, but the rest of the cast is either the same as the movie or better. Some of the music is done a little differently, but it is close enough. If I wasn't comparing the movie & the show I would have considered this a 5 star recording.

Back in 1939, audio recording was tinny and horrible by today's standards. This movie's soundtrack was no exception.

However, digital technology has come a long way, including the ability to simulate stereo. For the most part, the hissing and scratching are gone in this CD, and many passages are in what sounds like true stereo.

It's a treat for those of us who hate mono.

This is the best Wizard of Oz original soundtrack recording available. And as somebody else said, the popup in the cardboard keepcase is unexpected and very cool.

Highly recommended.

Robin Trower - Living Out of Time: Live

I was pleasantly surprised--yeah, even shocked--at Trower's near perfect delivery. This recording is like discovering classic Trower all over again. Beware: you may be tempted dawn headphones and blow some eardrums out. Simply put, a must-have. Save for Pink Floyd's PULSE, Trower's LIVING OUT OF TIME: LIVE is my favorite live DVD.

ASIDE: "Living Out of Time: LIVE", which is also issued in CD form, is NOT a live version of the studio CD "Living Out Of Time." That said, the latter ("Living Out Of Time") is a fantastic CD, saturated with classic Trower energy. I got the two confused, but I'm glad I did--I mistakenly wound up with both wonderful recordings.
