The advertising was listed the cast of the movie version, while it actually contains only Donny Osmond from the movie everyone else is not from the movie version with Maria Friedman as it states on the website. Sent it back, since this copy was improperly advertised.
Release Date January 24, 2006
Even though I given this a Five Star rating, I know that not everyone has the capacity to like Satchmo. However, for those music lovers who love the blues, love classics, and love pioneers of great music, this is an awesome collection from a great artist.
The majority of adults that I know have heard "What a Wonderful World". Even if it was a remake version, it is a great song.
His duet with Bing Crosby, "Gone Fishin'", is one of my favorite summer songs.
Speaking of summer,"When it's Sleepytime Down South.', is a wonderfully relaxing addition as a live cut.

The second album i ever bought in my life was Hot August Night over 30 years ago. The atmosphere, the beautiful music, the feather light touch of acoustic guitars, the fantastic songs, and the hypnotic and charismatic voice of Neil Diamond inspired a love of the man and his music, and my own interest in music that has endured to this day.
However I went through a phase after Jazz Singer, where I felt disconnected from his output, songs like September Morn, and Turn on your heartlight did not seem like songs I could relate to compared to say Solitary Man, or I am..I said.
So, when I heard this was his best album in years I had to get it. The more I listen to it, the more I find to appreciate.

I absolutely love this musical more than life itself! I hope to some day fulfill my dream of seeing it on Broadway, but it would of course have to come back, but I'd settle for London or Shea's (my local theater) if it doesn't happen.
The first Les Mis song I ever heard came from this CD, "Master of House" which is one of my favorites. Alun Armstrong sings the best version of it on here. I also love Colm Wilkinson, who will always be THE original Valjean. Michael Ball and Judy Juhn do an awesome duet of "A Heart Full of Love," and he does an amazing solo of "Empty Chairs." And Lea Salonga last but not least, is great as Eponine. Her and Ball do a very uplifting, but very sad version of "A Little Fall of Rain," the second Les Mis song I ever heard, ... Read More:

I was very dissappointed in this CD. The big hits were all recorded live in a 1992 concert and were no where close to the quality of the original recordings of these big hits. I really missed the quality of his 1970 voice. The only reason I gave it a "2" rating was that it was Neil Diamond.
Release Date September 24, 2002
I'm actually relieved that "how do i make you" was left off this album. that was a song that i always fast forwarded through...probably the worst song she ever recorded. (simply obnoxious to my ears and a waste of her voice).
i had this album many years, and listen to it every once in a while...i just came here to get a replacement because mine got scratched.
i always wondered why she recorded it...recently i read an interview with linda and she said she never really felt comfortable in the rock genre, and loves exploring other styles.

Don't buy this for the Chicago set. Its ok, but lacks the brilliant Peter Cetera vocals. Earth, Wind, and Fire is the reason to buy and listen to this. The music and vocals are great and sound the same as they did 30 years ago. Way of the World is beautiful and they play all the favorites. One of the best music DVD's I own strictly for EW&F.
Release Date April 15, 1997
I bought this CD because of all the rave reviews I read about it. The other people must have been a bit more earthy-crunchy than I am. I found all the wind instruments a bit boring. I think I like to hear a little more piano or something... I love the baby Mozart CD but I thought my baby needed a change every once in a while. Thats why I bought this one. It's ok....
Release Date April 18, 1995
The best part of this collection is the rare, previously unavailable tracks. Never mind that buying this item means acquiring songs one already has; it is the the above mentioned rare stuff that is worth the price of admission. Disc 4, Track 8, Medley, Pick a Bale of Cotton, On Top of Old Smokey, and Midnight Special are interesting. Whoever heard of ABBA singing a CCR song? And Track 11 on the same disc, ABBA Undeleted, in which they're "jamming" is a lot of fun, because it is so informal and spontaneous.
Now, if only Agnetha Faltskog's early career German language recordings would once again be available...
