Black Sabbath's first album, Black Sabbath, is a great album. Here is my track by track review.
1.Black Sabbath-10/10 Classic riff. It starts slow with church bells, and a thunderstorm followed by a monster riff by Iommi. Ozzy sings slow lyrics. It evantually speeds up.
2. The Wizard- 9.5/10 Cool song. Ozzy plays a harmonica. It is a little short, but a fun and interesting listen. Cool lyrics by Geezer.
3. Wasp- Behind the Wall of Sleep- Bassically- N.I.B- 10/10 My favorite on the album. Wasp is an intro to Behind the Wall of Sleep, and Bassically is an intro to N.I.B. Its pretty much 2 songs in 1. The effects on Ozzy's voice are cool on behind the wall of sleep. The left headphone has an echo while the right ... Read More:

This is another must-have for anyone who can't hear enough live Led Zeppelin.
This album seems a little less polished than the other live recordings; the tracks
are older and there are multiple versions of some of the classics. There is nothing
on this I don't enjoy listening to.

The Cult seem to still have a name for themselves and haven't been forgotten by rock fans, even though they broke up in 1995. Their songs are still on the air. Pure Cult:The Singles is a greatest hits compilation of of the band's biggest and best singles throughout those years. Who doesn't remember the emotional "Fire Woman" or the hard-hitting rockin' tune "Love Removal Machine"? I used to dance to that song many of times hanging out in the clubs.
Singer Ian Astbury's voice is very energetic and has an intense emotion all on it's own -- he wails and screams from song to song. The band's style was rock n roll, but in a slightly electronic new wave style. The album also features the songs:"She Sells Sanctuary" filled with loud rock guitars ... Read More:

First, I was a bit leery about ordering this box set. After reading the reviews I wasn't sure it was worth it. Countless people complain about the spine of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. I guess some issues of the box have the word Bloddy, well mine doesn't. Also, some say the 80 page book has photos of Mother Earth in it, mine doesn't. Also, there are complaints about the quality of the remasters. Some claim all they did was increase the sound. Well what did you expect, psychedelic separation? Black Sabbath, in my eyes, is the seminal heavy metal band. I don't think sound separation, and technical clarity would do them any justice. The point is, at the time Black Sabbath was the heaviest, dirtiest, rawest sounding band. I enjoy the ruff edges. If you want ... Read More:

I should say first of all that I enjoy Led Zeppelin's music but I am not an ardent fan. I first purchased this album back in the late 70's as I am a fan of live albums, at the time I probably only listened to it once or twice and put it away never to be played again. Over the years I have gained an appreciation for excellent musicians and these 4 definately fall into that class.
When I saw this title was going to be remastered and include 6 new songs, I picked up a copy and I must say I was glad I did. The sound on this new version is outstanding and the attention to detail that Page and Shirley did remastering this album is worth every penny. Now I know there are purists out there who claim this to be an abomination as it compilies performances from 3 shows ... Read More:

I try not to review best ofs too often but sometimes that's all I own of a group. It occured to me the other day that all the Queen I ever owned in the past I have sold off for cigarettes and beer while living in the cold depths of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
So I ran off to buy me some Queen. I figured I'd start with the most obvious and get all the hits I could. This collection is for sure a great way to start, with the hits like "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "We Will Rock You" etc. I can't stop listening to it. Unfortunetly they had so many hits, they had to put out a second version called "Classic Queen" which has "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Under Pressure" so I bought that one too. There is a remastered Greatest Hits out there but once again it doesn't have all ... Read More:

Led Zeppelin-Presence (***1/2)
I usually go through phases with Zeppelin. Long periods of not wanting to hear them but still giving them credit for being one of the greatest bands of all time, and then short (make that extremely short) periods of time where I listen to Led Zeppelin so much I get really sick of them. This just might be the only album in the bands canon that doesn't follow into either of those categories. I think that is due to the fact that I truly believe both Jimmy Page and John Bonham are at their all time best here, this album contains two absolute Zeppelin classics, and what I consider to be their all time best, and the fact that is just an average album which I only pull out once in a blue moon.

When I received the Def Leppard cd, High n Dry, I played it on my home cd player and on my auto cd player and it got stuck on certain sections. I would assume it is scratched. I intend to return it as soon as possible.
