Hey! I love "Hot Dog." It is a fun song. Sometimes all a good song needs to be is fun. I'm sure that was what they were thinking. And Zep never padded the albums with filler. As far as the rest goes...the times were changing and so were Jimmy and company. I'll meet you half way and say a three star for a Zep album and a four star to anything else released by another artist that year. Final thought: Jimmy was out of it and every band needs to evolve and try something different. I will never forget the weird water color album sleeve. What was that all about?

I can remember being a freshman in high-school and going to school dances in Bakersfield Ca, and occasionally going home to the OC and going to church dances with friends, and the pretty girls lining the walls or hiding in the Ladies room, but when "Smoke on the Water" would be played, they would all be desperately looking for someone to dance with as soon as the first bar of the song was played.
Adolescent boy's prayers were answered.
This is still the favorite Deep Purple album for most of my friends 36 years gone by now!

Listening to this great CD today, I can remember why it was one of my favorite albums in my senior year in HS. Queen really knew how to produce a cohesive album. This album is so eclectic in styles and yet somehow it all fits together so well I can't imagine the album without all of the songs and in the order they were placed. Now this CD offers alternative versions of two of the songs, well I wouldn't have done that, but in the wonderful digital age we can make the albums we own into any order of presentation we want, so that is a trifling issue.
At the time I remember the Brian May disclaimer on the bottom that no synthesizers were used to create this album. In 1975 I didn't get that, but by the early 80's I completely understood. Finally, ... Read More:

Black Sabbath's first album, Black Sabbath, is a great album. Here is my track by track review.
1.Black Sabbath-10/10 Classic riff. It starts slow with church bells, and a thunderstorm followed by a monster riff by Iommi. Ozzy sings slow lyrics. It evantually speeds up.
2. The Wizard- 9.5/10 Cool song. Ozzy plays a harmonica. It is a little short, but a fun and interesting listen. Cool lyrics by Geezer.
3. Wasp- Behind the Wall of Sleep- Bassically- N.I.B- 10/10 My favorite on the album. Wasp is an intro to Behind the Wall of Sleep, and Bassically is an intro to N.I.B. Its pretty much 2 songs in 1. The effects on Ozzy's voice are cool on behind the wall of sleep. The left headphone has an echo while the right headphone is ... Read More:

Possibly better than The Song Ramains the Same. If you like Led Zeppelin (considered one of the best rock bands and revalued generation after generation) I think this triple is a good choice. The singer is O.K (now his "Raising Sand" is astonishing), the guitarist is wonderful, the bassist sounds fine and the drummer was one of the best in his genre.

I had this album on vinyl many years ago, with the same picture on the cover. The sound is still excellent.
Ordering and delivery were without fault.

Exellent sound quality, captures the true "essence" of Judas preist. A few songs on here that I could do without thus the reasoning for the 4 star rating, No offence to the diehard Priest fans out there. ROCK ON!
