Never could get on with this album. I thought No Prayer For The Dying was average (a shock for a Maiden fan from the old days) but this one is downright awful. I was moderately hopeful when the single of Be Quick Or Be Dead was released, but this album crushed those hopes. Some of the vocals are okay (Childhood's End) and the title track finally made some kind of sense after seeing it live...but no thanks.

An impressive live album! Black Sabbath really puts on a great show, from what I hear on this album, and it's nice to know that the REAL Sabbath fans can appreciate something beyond "Paranoid" and "Iron Man." A lot of great tracks, here, and the nearly nineteen minute "Wicked World" really demonstrates the level of musicianship in this band.

This is honestly a BRILLIANT studio album. I can sit here and talk about which songs are memorable, but I'd be beating a dead horse for doing so, since the entire disc features one excellent track after another.
You have melodic tracks such as the heart-racing "Chasing Shadows" with an early Pink Floyd vibe, "Lalena" which is TRULY a haunting ballad (unlike all those other so-called "haunting ballads" from other bands, don't make me laugh, THIS is the real deal!) and "Blind", with EXCELLENT vocals.
The epic masterpiece of the album is a 12-minute track called "April", which starts out with a chilling guitar riff that builds into a theme and seems very heavenly for the most part, before the track moves in a very dated soundtrack ... Read More:

Budgie is a very clever and inspirational band. The first time I heard "Breadfan", I couldn't stop laughing because the vocals sounded like a parakeet was singing but it's the riffs and guitar chords that pull you in. Kinda gives you an idea where early Priest got some of their influence from. If you're curious about Budgie and just starting out, this is an excellent cd.

If you are a Queen fan and still don't have any of their first eight albums, then this is a must buy! Queen was easily one of the best rock bands in the history of the universe!
The albums included were remastered and they are "Queen" (1973), "Queen II" (1974), "Sheer Heart Attack" (1974), "A Night At The Opera" (1975), "A Day At The Races" (1976), "News Of The World" (1977), "Jazz" (1978), and "The Game" (1980).
All these albums are fantastic and show diverse songwriting styles. These guys, (singer/piano player Freddy Mercury, guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon, and drummer Roger Taylor), were never afraid of trying any style that they could think of. All four members of the group get a chance to show their songwriting skills and ... Read More:
To the rumbling sounds of a thunderous engine, or "Iron Horse", as it were, followed by an explosively fierce launch into the album, Wheels of Fire leaves burning trails, threatening to immolate any who would dare stand in the path of True Metal.
II. Kings Of Metal.
The War Machine rumbles forth, conquoring city after city, whose warriors in each province rise up in these veritable concert hall rallies.
Considered the "loudest band in the world", it is interesting to note that on one occasion, a club ceiling literally began to crack as the walls trembled to the massive custom speakers, which is one of the reasons why they prefer to primarily play outdoor events. Besides that designation, other credits ... Read More:

This is some of the greatest Metal that Saxon had to offer. It not only has multiple CD's, but over 40 songs to boot. With the release of a new Saxon album in 2007, this would be a great compliment to anyone wanting great Metal from an amazing Metal band. As a radio DJ with my own Metal show, I bought this to let my listeners enjoy what i have been enjoying from Saxon for years. All the best in one package, you can't go wrong. And it won't break the bank either to buy this set. This would save you alot of cash from having to buy all the past albums if you are on a budget, but even if you aren't I suggest buying all of them along with this set just for fun....

After vocalist Bruce Dickinson left Iron Maiden, and in 1994 Blaze Bailey was the chosen one to replace him.Bruce sang in higher key while Blaze was singing low-key,to many people Bailey wasn'the right choice for the band.It might be true but the band had a chance to do things they never could do with Di'Anno and Dickinson, experiment and sound different.Of course many Maiden fans just bash "X Factor" and "Virtual XI" rather than giving it any chance.Bailey was perhaps too much of a change of vocalist for fans to handle. It doesn't sound like classic Maiden for sure,it sounds like a different band, different but good, they have a totally different style and energy.
For Virtual XI(1998)the band went towards a less epic style than "The X-Factor"(1995)to a somewhat more pleasing atmosphere.A ... Read More:

As a side note, for those of you that are Angel Witch fans then I respect your fondness for the band. This review is for those who may have heard of the band, but never listened to them.
Instrumentally, its very good, but the vocals are very weak. The liner notes mention that its a wonder why the band didn't make it big like Iron Maiden or Def Leppard, but this band isn't in the same class. If you're a fan of NWOBHM and want to sample all of what the genre has to offer then by all means buy it. I recommend though that you first sample other bands from this time period such as Maiden, Saxon, and UFO.
