I am slowly replacing my old scrached up LPs. I am glad to find someone who carriers the old rock music on CD. Thanks for help restore some old memories.

Very unlike typical Judas Priest, but excellent material on this one. I do believe it got lost in the shuffle because people could not accept such a different style of music coming from Priest. About the best way I can think to describe this one is a cross between the Sex Pistols and Rick Springfield (music, not vocals), lots of melody mixed with punkish sounding rhythm and awesome cool drum tracks that make me want to become a drummer. Rob Halford is at his absolute sassiest on this one. Amazing guitar sound and solos. I listened to it this week-end for the first time in many years, and went crazy for it all over again. Made me wanna get right up and dance.

You would figure that it is bound to happen even with great bands like Motorhead. There would be a time that they would release a horrid album, and lets face it, when you have been releasing albums since 1977, there is going to be a title that the fan base doesnt like. 1992's "March or Die" is the follow up to the below average "1916", and for some reason the band, after a four year abscene (1987 Rock N Roll was released, and it wouldnt be til 1991 til the next release) the band seemed to be heading in a downward spiral. Like I stated before "1916" sounded just different. Gone was the rawness of the style of the band, and they had a more polished, almost more poppy sound. No, they didnt sell out, but I think the lack of studio time really hurt them. "March or Die" ... Read More:

Purple's follow-up to their highly successful `Perfect Strangers' record strangely mirror the events of the previous decade when the band was making `Who Do We Think We Are?', itself a successor to `Machine Head'. The tensions between Ian Gillan and Ritchie Blackmore were ever present and did much to sabotage things in 1986 as they did in 1972. `House of Blue Light' may technically be a brilliant record but I don't care for it. The spirit and guts that made Purple's chemistry so unsettled through much of their Blackmore era career, was not reflected in the present recording. Hit singles seemed to be forced such as "Bad Attitude" (my personal favorite) and "Call of the Wild" (makes me wince!). They even try to make a female version of their old `In Rock' warhorse in "Hard ... Read More:

Their last album as a trio, and before the twin guitar attack was born, Vagabonds of the Western World finds Thin Lizzy going for a harder edged sound, immediately noticeable on the twangy blues rock of "Mama Nature Said." "The Hero and the Madman" follows, and is a very unique track that reminds one of cliffhanger dependent television series, and balances a funky, subdued rock n' roll with a creative vocal approach on the story told by the lyrics.
These two hard rockers set the stage for "Slow Blues," which (as the title suggests) slows things down a bit, with some funky guitar and soulful singing, before "The Rocker" picks it back up (Oh, how I do love rock songs ABOUT rockin'!). This is really a great track, and probably the album highlight.

Black Sabbath-Technical Ecstasy ***
The thing about Technical Ecstasy is that it contains some of Ozzy's greatest lyrics and vocal performances and also some of his worst. Some Of Tony Iommi's best playing and some of his most boring. Geezer and Bill do what they always do and do it well. Either way you look at it though Technical Ecstasy is the worst album of the Ozzy Osbourne led era of the great Black Sabbath.
'All Moving Parts (Stand Still)' is one of the greatest Sabbath songs ever. Lyrically and guitar wise it is Tony and Ozzy's best song since 'Sabbra Cadabra' of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. 'Back Street Kids' is among one of the groups hardest rockers. Great all around, Geezer Butler shines here. 'Rock N' Roll Doctor' while cheesy is a great and satisfying ... Read More:

This box set has over 5 hours of Judas Priest, plus a live dvd from 1982 Live Venegence. The songs on this set are in chronological order, and its really cool to listen to them that way to hear how Priest has come along the way. Discs 3 and 4 have the heaviest Metal tracks, but on discs 1 and 2 you hear songs that me think they insiperd Nazareth. By all means this box set is worth the money.
Release Date March 26, 2002
Never could get on with this album. I thought No Prayer For The Dying was average (a shock for a Maiden fan from the old days) but this one is downright awful. I was moderately hopeful when the single of Be Quick Or Be Dead was released, but this album crushed those hopes. Some of the vocals are okay (Childhood's End) and the title track finally made some kind of sense after seeing it live...but no thanks.
Release Date August 20, 2002
An impressive live album! Black Sabbath really puts on a great show, from what I hear on this album, and it's nice to know that the REAL Sabbath fans can appreciate something beyond "Paranoid" and "Iron Man." A lot of great tracks, here, and the nearly nineteen minute "Wicked World" really demonstrates the level of musicianship in this band.
