This CD provides a broad sampling of music from the legendary rock band Judas Priest. The amount of music you receive for the price is totally worth it.

Deep Purple has had some high moments in their career, followed by peaks and valleys in between. The classic Machine Head was their first truly great album followed by Made in Japan the following year which became one of the best live classic albums of all time. But fueding between band members constantly causing line up changes and members leaving and coming back into the band split them up at their commercial PEAK! But they came back with David Coverdale for the FABULOUS Burn album and Deep Purple's second high level was reached. Nobody would have ever expected Perfect Strangers to bring the band back fully commercially, but Purple hit their third peak in the 90's and unfortunatly, internal conflicts caused them to split yet again. This is a very polished album, no doubt. Some will label that a sell-out or "overproduced." I just think it is Ozzy and Zakk taking time to perfect these recordings as much as they can. A lot of good songs here, some hard, one or two that are kind of soft. No, Zakk is not Randy, but he is the next best thing that Ozzy has worked with. Solid album!

I usually judge my appreciation of live albums in two ways: 1) is it a significant historical document and 2) are the live versions better than the old studio songs? As far as the latter goes for me, `Live Killers' is somewhere between `Love You Live' and `Live! Bootleg!' A good live record not a great one, and most definitely not the album I grab when I want to here Queen. I would much rather have the Rainbow concert for early 1975, but then again the 1974-1975 era is my favorite of Queen's. This record still rocks but I don't know why I don't love it. Maybe "Brighton Rock" is too long and just not as impressive as the studio recording, surprisingly since Brian May is an all-time favorite of mine. The original side one is probably the best with the killer ... Read More:

Iron Fist is the closing chapter in one phase of Motorhead's history. It marks the last album with Fast Eddie (who also produced this one), and a lot of fans, even Lemmy himself, have said they don't care much for this album. Personally I don't understand why there are complaints. Perhaps it's frowned upon because it was the end of an era. Maybe because of the environment in which it was recorded- turmoil, fights, management issues, band member issues, increased drug use, musical differences, and trying to follow up their most successful album yet in Ace of Spades- maybe all of that makes it a bad memory for Lemmy.
It could be because Iron Fist was the first Motorhead song I ever heard back in 1982 (and it's still my favorite song) but I absolutely love ... Read More:

Awesome live show. The video is sharp, the editing is perfect, the sound is clear and loud, and the band look and are playing great. Nice to see the band still keeping on, and they've really trimmed alot of the excess noodling and extended solos from earlier incarnations to now just rocking and jamming away. 5 stars

At this point in Motorheads career, their legacy is secure. Critically speaking, it doesn't matter too much what they do, its not really going to effect what the world in general will remember them for.
So the new albums are just the band throwing more songs onto the giant pile of awesome Motorhead material.
"Inferno" is no different. The sound remains the same, Motorheads still making music thats either the worlds heaviest rock or the worlds most groveable metal. Some of its more metal, some of its more rock, but it all sounds just like Motorhead.
In that respect, it's probably not going to convert people who don't like Motorhead, but who cares about them? "Inferno" is a great album, it totally rocks.

Thin Lizzy's 1977 release, Bad Reputation, is another strong album from the underrated Irish band. Phil Lynott's continued growth as a songwriter is apparent throughout and the band continue to further their horizons musically. The album is best known for the wicked title track (certainly one of their heaviest songs) and a juicy slice of R&B called "Dancing in the Moonlight." One of the band's best tracks, "Dancing..." works on every level from Phil's great vocals and his funky bass line to the snappy horn lines and its catchy chorus. Like their previous album (Johnny the Fox), Bad Reputation works best on the more melodic tracks as "Southbound" and "That Woman's Gonna Break Your Heart" are great songs led by the band's dual guitar sound while the mellower "Downtown Sundown" and "Dear ... This double cd (not the 1 cd release, that edited off side 4 [in the lp days]) of some of Iron Maiden's best songs, covering from the early pre Dickinson days to Powerslave. It has a nice intro (Churchill's speech) then it's all headbanging classic rock. Find the 2 cd one, if you're a Maiden fan. [Same with "Bursting Out" from Jethro Tull, if you like them, like I do, as the original 1 cd left out three songs.]
