The Latest work by JUDAS PRIEST is superb in terms of the vocals, the music, and the packaging. It is clearly a concept album that in my view has only one similar album that you can compare it with, which was done by a band in a different genre ( YES, the album I have in mind is TALES FROM TOPOGRAPHIC OCEANS).The points in common are that you have Unique vocalists, and musicians who are masters at what they play. Anyway, jettison the comparison.
JUDAS PRIEST stand alone in the Hard rock world as being brilliant musicians, and consistently hard workers who have fans that stick to the PRIEST like few band fans do. In my view there are few bands that can deserve that kind of loyalty in hard rock. And JUDAS PRIEST have produced a work that ... Read More:

What a shame that this band is primarily thought of a one hit wonder in the US, known only for "The Boys are Back in Town". Out of the many truly great albums of their career (Chinatown, Bad Reputation, and one of the top five live records of all time, Live and Dangerous)this one stands out. Do Anything...and Got to Give it Up alone are worth the price of admission, but theres so much more...Check it out!!!

ah..the good old days.buying cigarettes underage, losing my virginity at age 14,sneaking my first couple of beers,ah and of course,my first motorheaad cassette. this record is timeless. lemmy and the boys deliver with gutteral force. songs like "i'm so bad baby i dont care" and the war ballad "1916" are a constant reminder of how these guys are old but man can they still rock.if you dont own any motorhead stuff, get this record. you wont be dissapoined.

Look, if you want sludgy distorted doom metal, do yourself a favor and go back to listening to Paranoid or Masters of Reality. I see no point in a band remaking the same album over and over again. Ozzy Era Sabbath's early albums broke the mold for that style, so why should they have continued remaking the same thing again and again?
No, if you want some good music and have an open enough mind not to demand a certain sound just because there's a certain name printed on the cover, then Never Say Die is an incredible album.
Never Say Die - This opener is really high energy, the production is really great. All of the instruments are clear, great rhythm that's almost Iron Maidenish. I just love it.

The album that essentially defined Queen to an American Audience gets the royal treatment, and it was well worth the upgrade. Marked by the operatic "Bohemian Rhapsody," "A Night At The Opera" mixed all the grand elements of Queen's first three albums into one pastiche of glory. Each band member contributed songs and Roy Thomas Baker perfected his kitchen sink approach to production on this. From the simple Sci-Fi Ballad "39" to the Prog-rock excess of "The Prophet Song" to the snappy rock of "Death on Two Legs," "A Night At The Opera" had it all.
Queen (and primarily Freddie Mercury) loved the exaggerated pomp and camp of rock, and were determined to capture it all on record. There are stories that the vocals for "Bohemian Rhapsody" consisted of over ... Read More:

WOW, I love this album!
While many people may think Deep Purple wasn't *that* great just before they found their original hard rock/heavy metal sound only a couple years later, when it comes to pretty vocal melodies and above average songwriting skills, I have to give this album a perfect 5 star rating. It's just too wonderful NOT to give it a perfect rating!
"Kentucky Woman" has PERFECT vocals. They're memorable, exciting, and you wanna sing along with them. That's how you know a song is good. I can't imagine anyone hating this song, in fact!
"Shield" shows signs of the heavy metal version of the band that was about to be born. You can sense it here. "Anthem" is the GREATEST song on the album. I absolutely love the vocals ... Read More:

Thin Lizzy's 1977 release, Bad Reputation, is another strong album from the underrated Irish band. Phil Lynott's continued growth as a songwriter is apparent throughout and the band continue to further their horizons musically. The album is best known for the wicked title track (certainly one of their heaviest songs) and a juicy slice of R&B called "Dancing in the Moonlight." One of the band's best tracks, "Dancing..." works on every level from Phil's great vocals and his funky bass line to the snappy horn lines and its catchy chorus. Like their previous album (Johnny the Fox), Bad Reputation works best on the more melodic tracks as "Southbound" and "That Woman's Gonna Break Your Heart" are great songs led by the band's dual guitar sound while the mellower "Downtown Sundown" ...
