Thank God that the library has this. What more can you want from an album than the quote "Good Dope Good Fun". I really think that if you can get through the first song "Medication"...you'll have a good time with this. Read the lyrics first for the song "medication" and if you aren't disgusted and can relate in any way. Go ahead an d push "Add to Cart"

I'd call this my favorite punk album, but the truth is it's about as far from punk as you can get. There's only one fast, furious rocker, and it's the strongest song here: the emotional, hook-filled punk ballad "To Be Someone (Didn't We Have a Nice Time)" is probably the most rewarding song in the Jam's catalogue. Of course, I've only heard two of their albums, so I can't say squat about their whole catalogue, but I do really enjoy the song. There's also a mid-tempo punk song, "A-Bomb on Wardour Street", and its guitar solo makes it a high point too. Anyway, this is a very diverse album: there's demented new wave ("Mr. Clean"; "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight"), folk (the lovely, touching "English Rose"), folk-rock ("Fly"), music hall (A tremendous ... These double DVDs contain almost all his hits LIVE from his first album "life thru a lens" to the first single "Rudebox" of his latest album "Rudebox".
The only flaw of the DVDs is the interactive menu, it's kinda not so user friendly, and both DVDs have a different interactive format, in addition no track list on the back cover, and this really sucks.
Other than that i think it should be a have must for all Robbie's fans out there.....

A slow lingering polished project of fathomless melancholy. Mystified storylines of love and tragedy beautifully presented yet somehow pleasantly disturbing. Gothic storms and effervescent fires slowly burning through the ages. One cannot escape being drawn in deeply by songs of sad happiness and mysterious emotional landscapes. A skilled production by Ivo & Frye. This was the second of three such productions and the masterwork of the trio.

a lot of folks tend to draw immediate comparisons to mid-80s brit bands like the smiths, aztec camera, and billy bragg. the comparisons are fair (to a point), but what a lot of people seem to miss is that the housemartins are just as much a decendent of motown soul and gospel than any prevailing trend of the era (see: 'caravan of love,' 'he ain't heavy,' 'i'll be your shelter,' 'bow down,' 'lean on me') and used a lot more piano, harmonica, and brass than any of their contemporaries. maybe this is what the housemartins stand out so much in an otherwise relatively drab british music during the mid-80s. they perfectly married classic pop sensibilities, soul/gospel, northern soul, paul heaton's perfect lyrics and virtually reinvented the perfect three-minute single (in fact ... Elbow's first, best (to date), most interesting, and most poignant release. Highlights include:
- Any Day Now, the grinding, dissatisfied opening number
- Red, which is probably more responsible for this band being continually likened to Coldplay than any other song they have done
- Newborn, probably their most famous song and the one that is most deserving of the band's self-proclaimed genre, "prog rock without the solos"
- Scattered Black and Whites, which is one of those quintessentially Elbow numbers that drifts by sleepily under your radar if you're not paying attention, and breaks your heart if you are
Little Beast, Powder Blue, and the title track are also terrific, each in its own way.

That an album could contain both the elegant, droning psychedelia of "Walkin' With Jesus" and the aggressive and vitriolic grind of "Things'll Never Be the Same" is a testament to the force and range of Spacemen 3. Starts out frenetic with "Take Me to the Other Side" (which contains a piece of a riff lifted from AC/DC of all bands!) before settling into an extended hypnotic and dreamy phase propelled by "Transparent Radiation" and the "Jesus" track, as well as a few others. Then the mood is flipped over, going from on-the-back relaxing to on-the-belly punishment as "Things'll Never Be the Same" turns sinister and violent. What once was the sound of acid becomes the noise of heroin (quite literally, as "Things" makes intentionally unsubtle references to spiking).

The first issue one may notice with this release is that the track listing is different from the album released in the USA in the late 1970's. The USA release actually was a compilation of most of the UK vinyl tracks (minus "Listen" and "Too Personal") with a couple of singles ("Your Generation" and "Wild Youth") and one B-side (the disposable "Wild Dub") tacked on. This is identical to what transpired with the first Clash album - and to address it Epic has reissued both versions on CD. All of the original UK tracks are included on the CD reissue. My problem with this CD is two-fold. First, the studio version of "Gimme Some Truth" which was the first track on the original vinyl release in the USA is inexplicably left off of the CD. I happen to think the Generation X version is better ... Read More:
