There have been some great reviews of this cd here, but I'll chime in regardless.
It's funny how sometimes you get introduced to a band. Catherine Wheel opened up for an INXS show I went to in Cleveland, OH, in 1993 or 1994 (sorry I forget the year, it was the "Full Moon, Dirty Hearts" INXS tour!!). I caught the empty bottle of Evian that Michael Hutchence threw into the audience, kept it for a few years in my bedroom and bragged, and had a fine time with INXS, but you know, the most vivid memory I have of that show that still remains is how impressive Catherine Wheel was during the opening set. I etched the memory of this band in my head and I stood there captivated, and made a note to run to the record the next day to pick ... Read More:

Love Radiohead (especially their paranoid android) but the DVD is just doesn't cut it. It's just got a stereo track only no digitals

This isn't you father's "Black Market Clash" but as long as you can pick up both, you might want to. All of the tracks that didn't make it onto this reissue (is it a reissue, or a whole new thing?)are easily available elsewhere but old timers (like me) kind of prefer not having our memories messed with. That said, this is still way cool and gathers up lots of odds and ends that you want if you're a fan. I used to have alot of these tracks on singles, but I don't pull out the singles that much anymore, so having them easily at hand is definitely worth it. Next to the first LP this is the one I seem to pull out and play most often. I have both versions, and I play both. Both deserve five stars in my view, but they are both completely different experiences. ... Read More:

Unlike a lot of others, I'm really happy Sioux is not stuck in the 80's! After all people, they are over! This album is her most personal and since I downloaded it into my mp3 months ago I have not stopped listening to it. She is in great voice, the songs are strong and the beats are addictive! If you get a chance to see her - GO! I saw her a few months back and she brought the house down! And I have seen Sioux live at least 10 times and I think it was my favorite show - well, second - nothing beats the first time...

Review no. 64. Hard to believe but every song on this sixteen track collection are Buzzcocks singles put out between 1977-79. Never realized they even ever had out THAT many in their entire career. The '70's punk outfit still exists to this very day - with two original members, guitarist / vocalist Pete Shelley and guitarist / second lead vocalist Steve Diggle. Some of the tunes here I seem to remember the most are "Orgasm Addict", "Love You More" the Steve Diggle-penned "Harmony In My Head" and "Noise Annoys". A should-have.

The Stranglers are one of those bands that are hard to describe, they have a sound that is distinctly their own. Part of the punk movement of the seventies, they were more advanced musically and lyrically than most of Britain's punk bands. This superb collection contains such gems as "No More Heroes", "Straighten Out", "All Day And All Of The Night" (remember the original by The Kinks? Well The Stranglers do a great job covering this classic), "96 Tears" (another classic originally a hit for the sixty's group "? And The Mysterians", "Golden Brown", "Dutchess", "Always The Sun", "Skin Deep", and "La Folie" plus more. The only song missing is "All Roads Lead To Rome". ... Read More:

Just too mainstream, there are far more interesting things going on in the undergrowth - for a comparison I recommend Nick Worrall. His album is FREE to download as well.
