Never in my life have i heard such a terrible album. First of all, it's annoying. Second of all, it's boring. It's not trendy, not unique...i can't find anything good about it. I picked it for $10 and i want my money back. I was hyped up about getting into Blur, hearing top stuff about them, but this was just a horrible experience. I'm not picky with music either...i barely throw back anything, and i listen to a huge variety of music including alternative rock, punk, ambient, electronic music, acoustic music, electronic music, doom/drone metal, jazz, blues, funk, rap, JEEZ the list goes on and i hope to never hear Blur again.

Following on from their various Nuggets releases covering the 60's and 70's, their 70's punk box, No Thanks and their alternative 80's box, Left Of The Dial, Rhino release a 4 disc box covering the British alternative/indie music scene which succeeded the scene explored on their Left Of The Dial Box.
As the Brit Box begins with the Smiths 1984 release How Soon Is Now (one of their very best songs!), several artists are represented on both this and Left Of The Dial: the Smiths, Cocteau Twins, The Cure (who seem to be on every compilation ever released that covers their lifetime!), Echo and the Bunnymen, Jesus and Mary Chain, Happy Mondays and the Stone Roses - in the latter's case with even the same song, She Bangs the Drums - feature on both ... "The Boy With No Name" sees Travis return to familiar territory. After taking a somewhat dark and foreboding turn with their last studio release "12 Memories," we are now back to the more uplifting tunes and harmonies of "The Man Who" and "The Invisible Band." Fran Healy has an incredible voice and knack at hitting those impressive falsettos that really get you, and on standouts such as Battleships, we are treated to Fran at his best. I was blown away by the vocals on this great song. My Eyes, I guess, was written for his newborn child. Catchy song, and will stick w/ you just like Battleships. Closer is another winner, as are Eyes Wide Open and Out in Space. Travis is back in their well defined, and comfortable niche with this new cd. And I for one hope ... Read More:

I like this music on a limited basis. I've purchased several movie sound tracks recently and enjoy them as I drive my car.

An hilarious poke at the fab four with talent themselves, the Rutles took the late 1970's by storm. Song writer Neil Inness' well crafted wit is manifested in the Beatle sound alikes. The songs may sound familiar, that's because Inness played around with the same chords the Beatles did to construct his melodies. Good stuff.

As weird as it may sound, it took me probably 10 years to really appreciate this album. It is not that I did not like it at first. I really liked it after a couple of listens and afterwards I still really liked it. However, looking back at the type of songs that this album features makes me think this album is just beyond words. I would put this album as the best all time only if they included "The Rolling People" and "Let The Damage Begin" on this because they were also written, I believe, during these sessions. So many unbelievable rocking and tripped out tracks on this album such as "This Is Music", "A New Decade", "Life's An Ocean", "Stormy Clouds" and the reprise. "Life's An Ocean" is just one of the greatest songs ever written. And also their best live song in ... Read More:

I first heard the title track from Immortal Memory on uTube and knew that I had to have the CD. Of course my local music store didn't carry it so I searched on Amazon. The entire recording from Lisa Gerrard and Patrick Cassidy is amazing! Hauntingly beautiful, seductive and completely thought provoking. A great CD to play for a romantic dinner or meditation, or whenever one needs to come down from a stressful day

There's little more I can say in favor of this collection of Robbie Williams' hits that hasn't been already said on the other reviews, except that I like "Angels" so much, that was the first song my husband and I danced to in our wedding... =)! And my second favorite is Supreme... It's true that the detail on Amazon's web page isn't faithful to the CD's content and some people may feel deceived, but I still think this is a great CD! So good that I had to buy it a second time, since my husband lost our first copy... ;) ENJOY IT!

The Enemy were the winners of the Best New Band award at the 2007 Q Awards, and they certainly deserve the title. They sound like a more polished version of bands like Arctic Monkeys and The Pigeon Detectives, which means they will appeal to a much broader audience. They're a kind of band with a little bit for everybody: they have songs with truly meaningful lyrics (the best examples of this: 'You're Not Alone' and 'It's Not Okay'), they have slower songs (like 'Happy Birthday Jane'), and they have the more raw sounding songs that fans of the aforementioned bands Arctic Monkeys and The Pigeon Detectives will enjoy (like 'Technodanceaphobic' and '40 Days and 40 Nights'). This album went almost instantly on my list of favourites when I listened to it, because it was consistently good ... Read More:
