Lisa Ono is a great singer. This album has her singing classic spanish latino hits that remind me of the past. All are in spanish and very well mixed. But all of the songs in this volume are romantic ballads. The list of songs are
1. Historia De Un Amor
2. Eclipse
3. Druma Negrita
4. Sabor A Mi
5. Aquellos Ojos Verdes
6. Esta Tarde Vi Volver
7. Solamente Una Vez
8. Acalanto De Amor
9. Tu Mi Delirio
10. Siempre En Mi Corazon
Included this track list because amazon does not seem to provide one. Overall I Highly recommend this album. catch her in concert if you can!!

This is a great buy! Toquinho has always been a quitarist foremost but here he sings some of the classic Bossa Nova songs from the original greats such as Vinicius and Jobim.
He does a great job with his versions of the songs - in light of some of these songs being written for piano.
If you enjoy Bossa Nova then you must consider this CD.

I used to lay in bed and sweat, thinking, another day had gone by and I still hadn't found or purchased a CD of Herbie Mann & Joao Gilberto With Antonio Carlos Jobim.
It was in the stores for a short time and I let it slip through my fingers, and then, along came Amazon to the rescue.
The CD was delivered to my doorstep, I can hold it in my hand, I can catch up on my sleep!
Darn, Vinyl.
I was worried I was never going to hear the tracks without scratches or pops in the background.
Amazon put an end to that.
I once heard, a number of recordings by Gilberto and Jobim became so popular in Brazil, they were sung at half time during soccer games ... Read More:

This is my favorite Getz bossa nova album. Almeida is excellent throughout, and his guitar is better recorded and more up-front than Charlie Byrd's on Jazz Samba.
I don't care for the vocals on Getz/Gilberto, and for me Getz works best without vocalists in any case--he is the vocalist. Almeida also has a voice here that's ear-catching, far more so than Byrd on Jazz Samba. I like Jazz Samba as well, but on this album, the players overall "get" the music a bit better (perhaps because it features more Brazilian musicians than Jazz Samba).
So if you like your Getz bossa nova w/o vocals, I'd suggest you start here and then check out Jazz Samba and Jazz Samba Encore--that has some vocals, but they're very good.

I first purchased a recording from this artist while in college in Chgo. (over 20 years ago). I loved her then & even more now. Wonderful upbeat music. Thanks for the fun!

This superb live CD (recorded at the 1974 Concord Jazz Festival) combines all any jazz lover could want- good sound, an enthusiastic crowd, minimal but entertaining patter, fabulous musicianship, and great tunes - from classical to ragtime to funky South American sound. The strings, drums, berimbau, and especially Bud Shank's liquidly-melodic flute make this a sweet ride. If you appreciate good music, you will seriously dig this regardless of genre preferred because it's lush, well-executed and joyous. Real craftsmanship at work here!

Bossa Nova started in Brazil in the late `50s. The "First Generation" included Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto and Vinicius de Moraes as their main artists. Their themes were composed focusing on "Love, Smiles & Flowers" and greatly influenced Latin America's music and even USA's composers.
In the present CD two geniuses join and mix their efforts to give the audience an outstanding performance.
Seven of the compositions are authored by Jobim and include some of his best.
"Girl from Ipanema" make you feel being at the wonderful Ipanema Beach surrounded by the loveliest girls in the world (believe me, I've been there).
"Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars" evokes those wonderful starred nights from Rio de Janeiro, with all their ... Read More:
