indeed the name says it all,if your only going to buy one clapton cd this is it. it spans his career from 67-81 his best years in my opinon (being to weak before and too soft after)and this includes all his best known tracks from cream,blind faith,the dominoes and his solo career, and they are great tracks all.so for any clapton or classic rock fan this is an essential.

This album has probably his best work with the exeption of Voodoo Chile, Tin Pan Alley and Riviera Paradise. No wonder Janiva has repeated as Female Blues Artist of the Year! From start to finish this album is absolutely incredible. Janiva pours her heart into every note and it is a moving experience to listen to. I recently saw Janiva with her terrific band at the Rythym Room in Phoenix. She is a great performer - very personable, totally positive, and so comfortable in her own skin. Not only is Janiva a great performer, but she is also a wonderful role model!

The good news?

20+ years after their debut on CD, FINALLY, there are full remasters of "Moondance", "Street Choir" and "Astral Weeks".

The bad news?

They're not available domestically from Warner Music Group USA: All three are Warner Japan only.

And the really bad news?

As of today, Amazon doesn't stock the remasters (there is a 1996 Japan-released Moondance listed, but it is NOT the remaster, so don't waste your money). Hopefully, Amazon will correct this oversight soon. The catalog numbers for the three Japan Warner remasters are WPCR-75419, -20 and -21, which streeted in Japan on 6/25/08.

Ordinary People and Used To Love U are very good, old-fashioned soul songs with a modern twist. Unfortunately there's not much else here that maintain that high quality except for the sublime interlude Let's Get Lifted Again. Now here John Legend & Co. are really onto something special.

This is an outstanding release--the subject is Maxwell St. Chicago,a legendary marketplace and breeding ground for some of the finest blues music ever made--and as could be expected some fairly eccentric characters emerged.
The DVD consists of two b/w films,And This Is Free and Maxwell Street;A Living Memory--both are excellent and include some fine music from the street, including Robert Nighthawk. An excellent 36page booklet include many great photos and information, plus a 17track CD of blues that you could have heard back in the day.Plus some excellent extras which all add up to a great record of a place in time that sadly is now gone but not forgotten thanks to this release.
