Got this CD on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. This guy is a great bluesy player, singer and songwriter. I liked all the songs first time through and they are getting better with repeat listenings.

Ms. McKay has both a tremendous amount of talent and energy. Her voice is rather ordinary, but her musicianship is wonderful. Her lyric writing is sometimes brilliant and sometimes amateurish. often all within the same song.

Obligatory Villagers is to my ear probably her best CD so far with less low spots and excess than her previous CDs. But I think and know she can do better.

My view is that Ms. McKay needs someone like a modern day Norman Ganz to harness her immense talent into something that all can enjoy. Right now there is a lot of quirky stuff and brilliance mixed with material that's just plain dopey. It's music for audiophiles.

This CD is wonderful. I listen it constantly. It contains all of the old favorites, with the different female vocalists, and it's nothing but pure joy.

This is the best CD I've purchased in a very long time. Mr. Cray provides us with low blues, high blues, soft blues and hard blues. His voice is perfect for this music and his playing, well, there are no words to describe that. I have had this disc in my car's player since I bought it and have listened to nothing else. I sing with Bob but I'm glad he can't hear me.

This review was accidentally placed on the wrong CD (Best of Zucchero), but it rightfully goes with this CD (Zucchero and Co.)! (please forgive) (However,The Best of Zucchero is also ONE GREAT CD and is highly recommended !)
Well, if you love the blues, or an updated/different version thereof, and if you love love songs, you will love this CD ! Whether you can speak Italian or not, who cares...they are love songs, make up your own words ! lol I bought this CD just for one song, Cosi Celeste (she's my baby) but have fallen in love with the entire CD...and Zucchero too I might add ! Every song is perfectly remixed with an ambiance of House, Down Tempo, Trip Hop, Funk, and Acid Jazz. If you want to hear Billie Holiday in her natural style then buy the original Billie CD's but if you love remixes that take the past and make it a blast for todays generation, this is it!!! The flow of the CD never misses a beat. Each song is perfect in its remix style. This is much better then the Nina remix because it's smoother and the producers really meshed Billie Holidays vocals and original music to the new remix style they intended. Once again, if your looking for original Billie this is not the CD for you but if you want original Billie with a bit of Cayenne Pepper this is it!!!!

The Music Gods have been very generous in sending us Sonny Landreth. This is the album that really puts Sonny on the map. Recorded back in 1995, guests such as Mark Knopfler (he shares lead guitar duties with Sonny on the masterpiece "Congo Square") appear throughout the album. If you love slide guitar, your collection is not complete if don't have Sonny's work. This album is an excellent place to start your collection, because once you hear Sonny, you are going to want to get everything he's ever done.

Don't listen to the negative reviews of this cd it is one of the best and liveliest albums i've ever heard save for one or two songs. People just don't enjoy it because they're probably just the original fans of his early more simple music. The quality of Diamonds sounds like a pop album and it's great. The album just Hits its so diverse and has everything from Reggae to Jam Rock to Funk,Heavy Blues, an Italian love song with an accordion, to Spiritual songs inspired by World Music. I love all his stuff especially his newest cd Lifeline but this is one of my favorites.

I've never heard a bad Louie Prima album. The quality is good the songs are great. Lots of good tunes@!
