Sonny Boy II is not my favorite. I like more honk from the harp and less undercurrent of menace from the vocals, and I like Little Walter's and Paul Butterfield's ways of extending the blues melodically without losing the Chicago of it. But Sonny Boy grows on me, and this album has a lot of great stuff for a guy like me to hear who's trying to pick up journeyman skills on the harp.

This is anice collection of songs from this talented singer/songwriter. Lucinda Williams is always on top of her game. Her story telling ability shines through once again. She is one of the most talented females in the music business, never a disappointment. Her imagery conjures up tangible feelings in the listener.

This is a super offering by the Black Keys. I like their latest, "Magic Potion" a little better, but both are so good that you should own them if you are a fan of blues guitar.
Release Date February 07, 2006
This cd is packed with awesome songs that I never even knew she sang. I love them all! If you love the old songs, this is an awesome pick.

Now, my parents made me buy the CLEAN version and really that's the only downside to this album: the clean. The explicit is so exciting and good it's so awesome. Anyways, Amy is an amazing artist and the songs are so catchy and good, I can't stop listening.
The only other problem with the album which is not that big of a deal is that every track is depressing. There isn't anything about getting together, it's all about breaking up and cheating and drugs. But the thing the depressingness so "not so big" is that they were all written from her heart and what she believes in.
An amazing album by an amazing singer. The beat to the songs go so great with her voice and it makes the songs sound great.

This is the BEST live album ever recorded - not just one of the 50 in your Top Ten, not one of the 300 in your Top 100, but the absolute #1 live album ever! Delaney & Bonnie had a wonderful ability to gather talent around them. No wonder Joe Cocker stole this band and Lowell George took the heart of their next band.
However, when this album came out in 1970, Eric Clapton was the only name in the band most folks recognized. Eric is at his best here as "just one of the boys." Don't expect flashy solos, just 3 guitars (or is it 4 - George Harrison was on this tour too?) picking you up and whisking you away.
When "Things Get Better" starts, you'll say, "This is the hottest song I ever heard." Then it gets even better! By the time ... Read More:

Blues guitarist, Robben Ford (Yellowjackets), has a new album on Concord Records titled "Truth".
The blues will never die is an axiom proven over and over again, but it does change shape.
Robben Ford's latest release presents blues as they are today: in a powerful setting only a master veteran like Ford could envision.
"The blues have always been socio-political", says Ford.
In the opening song "Lateral Climb", he addresses the 9 to 5 grind, credit card debt, and the political frustrations we all experience.
"Peace on My Mind" was inspired by Willie Dixon's "It Don't Make Sense, You Can't Make Peace", which Ford describes as an anti-war song without being too preachy.
"If you're pointing the finger, no one wants to ... Read More:

Picture yourself in a crowded juke joint or blues bar on the southside of Chicago in the late '40's. Muddy Waters is about to play. He's already gone electric; I mean, he had to, to be heard over all the talking and yelling and what not. His harp player has about blown out a lung trying to be heard over all that din. Walter Jacobs has been doing a bit of experimenting himself, in an attempt to amplify the sound of that little instrument. Tonight he actually grabs the microphone off the stand, bumping it up close enough in his clasped hands to touch the harp. He cranks up the volume and starts to blow. The sound coming out of the amp is unlike anything anyone's ever heard. It's got a deep, heavy, honking, sexy wail, nothing at all like the unamplified harmonica sound ... Read More:
