This album is refreshing, creative and moving, attributes that are rare in music these days. Everyone loves a catchy tune, and the Avalanches find a new way to entice you and move you in a new way. When I first heard this album I knew I wanted to hear it again. It is something you can listen to anywhere with anyone for any type of mood. This album definately has sentimental value to me because it brings back memories of a good period in my life, but that's not the only reason why it holds so much value. The music itself has the ability to create a mystical and mysterious vibe.
Frontier Pyschiatrist and Since I Left You are my favorites. Bound to make you move or chill you out, whatever you're feeling.

I have always loved Blues Traveler but I was skeptical to hear DJ Logic on turntables. What a pleasant surprise. It doesn't sound like anything else. I mean, music wise- it's Blues Traveler but it's got a nice twist on it. I can't say that every song is perfect but if you are into experimental music instead of mainstream, then check this out. I amso glad that i did and would love a second album!

I heard Farina's stuff while driving through a hot, dusty Southwestern city. Then, it sounded cool. Must need blasting heat, honking traffic, exhaust, and dirt to sound good. Buyer Beware: this is just pretentious neo-elevator music. The only cool thing about this CD is the title, so beware all of Farina's self conscious, vacuous, whitebread Starbucks fake jazz narrative; like hey man, I'm headed to yoga class. There's even French foofoo hip-hop on track four. I can't believe all the deceptive reviews here. It's like everyone is trying to prove their street-cred by praising this boring stuff, which is like laxative for the brain: "Clear yourself of all mental efforts, relax, let go," states the first track. Sure. As if this high-pitched, boring, repetitious "music" ... Read More:

It may take a while to grow on you but `Milk It' really is one of the most diverse cd's by a single artist that money can buy. Obviously there are several collaborations here (Iggy Pop and Liam Gallager's contributions being highlights) and they all work really well. DIV have covered so many genres that you will rarely have to change cd's. They go from rock n' roll to an electro `Orbital'/`Chrystal Method' sound, to chill out and back again. I can't stop listening, it's brilliant.

(N.B- review refers to expanded edition) What a pleasant surprise to discover that Nonesuch have reissued the fantastic Reich Remixed with additional mixes by the likes of Four Tet, who perhaps unsurprisingly chooses to rework Reich's `Drumming' (previously given an electronic twist by the venerable acid-house pioneers Mantronix). No one can doubt the impact Reich has had on both popular as well as classical music, and for me he is unrivalled in the world of minimalism, despite my respect for the work of Philip Glass, especially his seminal `Glassworks' (1982) and his collaborations with Ravi Shankar (`Passages', 1990) and Uakti (`Aguas da Amazonia', 1999). Receiving the 10 CD Steve Reich set `Works' was one of the greatest musical presents I ever got, and once I learnt ... Read More:

The Prodigy's first three albums are all techno classics. "Experience" is their first album released in 1992. It features all of their hits from that year which was a watershed year for rave music. The music is frenetic, uptempo, hard, and relentless. There is clearly a punk rock influence with these guys and they use it to create a unique style of techno music. This is great to listen to while working out, driving, and dancing (of course!). The second disc is a collection of remixes and b-sides and it is almost as good as the first disc. Fans of The Prodigy should pick this up along with "Music for The Jilted Generation" and "Fat of the Land" because they are all essential.
