This is a CD full of songs of wonder. There are over twenty of them, all at around two to three minutes. No lyrics, no attention seekers, no words (although I remember one song having a few yells and whoops): just good music. Each one of them invokes some specific atmosphere, some rich tapestry of attitude, and then... it's off to the next one. It will keep you guessing, keep your attention, and keep your focus. This CD is great to listen to for background music, party music and just plain music. You can't go wrong with this one. It is instrumental, or more accurately, it is unburdened with A Message. It just wants to have fun, and wants you included.

The Chemical Brother's masterwork, Come With Us, deserves the Nobel Prize if only one were given for useful contemporary popular music. CWU is a CONCEPT album about GENETIC ENLIGHTENMENT. Getting the subtext and understanding how the tracks cohere requires that it be understood as a companion piece to the work of Zecharia Sitchin, particularly THE 12TH PLANET. CWU is one of the seminal cultural creations of the early 21st century, the "Rite of Spring" of our time

Well, don't know what to say about this CD. While wondering in one of those Used CD record stores I found this one and got trapped by the title: "FUTURE: A journey through the electronic underground", so I got it, but when I push the play buttom I found dissapointing tunes (except 2 or maybe 3). I am 36 years now and I am an avid Electronic listener, but this CD does not honor the title. Yes, I understand this is 11 years old and the music then was very scarce, but if that was the concept of underground...well...you better get a CD of Cafe del Mar. I am going right now to the Used CD store to change it for another one.

This album is refreshing, creative and moving, attributes that are rare in music these days. Everyone loves a catchy tune, and the Avalanches find a new way to entice you and move you in a new way. When I first heard this album I knew I wanted to hear it again. It is something you can listen to anywhere with anyone for any type of mood. This album definately has sentimental value to me because it brings back memories of a good period in my life, but that's not the only reason why it holds so much value. The music itself has the ability to create a mystical and mysterious vibe.
Frontier Pyschiatrist and Since I Left You are my favorites. Bound to make you move or chill you out, whatever you're feeling.

I always kind of liked The Prodigy, but never heard that much of them. Latecomer. I like the counter-culture flavor of electronica videos, so I thought I'd catch up on Prodigy's music and check out some vids at the same time, and bought the "Their Law" DVD.
The studio videos are pretty average for the genre, w/ the exception of course of the infamous "Smack My Bitch Up", which is certainly noteworthy, but not my sole motivation, or even a major one, for buying this. It was all good, but I wasn't unduly impressed.
Then I clicked over to the live section.
Now, I'm impressed. I don't have a wealth of behind-the-scenes info (gossip?) about these guys, so I'm left w/ the evidence of my ears and eyes. These guys rock ... Read More:

WOW!! This was my first Fatboy CD. I had never even heard of him before buying. I was bored musically and looking for something new, different, and good. Talk about a bullseye.
I consider 'Boutique', to be one of the best CD's I've ever bought. Seamless music melding with infectious beats and glorious upbeat tempo make this a fantastic party album. Buy it, borrow it, download it, whatever it takes to experience this Fatboy masterpiece

Amazon's tracklisting seems wrong here. There is nothing complex or deep about this album....but I listen to frequently....it's totally rowdy and fun. My favorites are Ruffneck and Hold Up Your Hands.
