This cd is awesome from beginning to end and provides listeners with Micro's famous style of techno/trance.This is one of the dj's that started the American rave scene and introduced Techno/Trance to the USA.If your planning to hit the road or the club this is the cd to listen to.If you like this album also I recommend "Tech Mix 2.0" (which is almost as good)along with "Tech Mix 5(the best!)_& "Out Through The Input".In fact any of his Tech Mix series cd's are good and well worth the listen. As with every Micro cd...there is great mixing and flowing. There is no other dj like Micro...go pick up this cd now and get hooked!

When Junkie XL came onto the music scene with 'Saturday Teenage Kicks' we in Holland knew we had something special. The two-man team of Tom Holkenborg and Rudeboy had already shown us what they could do in the decade before. Tom was a member of the bands Weekend at Waikiki and the industrial group Nerve. Rudeboy of course was the frontman of the now legendary Urban Dance Squad, that's right, the band Rage vs the Machine blatantly ripped off making them the worlds most unoriginal band.
Brilliant live shows made them a wanted guest at festivals and later with the Little Less Conversation commercial (with Elvis) more recognition came, also in computer games.
Rudeboy now has left Junkie XL and this album is their last work ... Read More:

if you're a fan of Lifeforms or FSOL in general this is a must have. remixes of the title track from the album of the same name, paths 1-7. the thing thats most exciting about these remixes are the additional vocals from singer Elizabeth Fraser, her gorgeous voice meshes perfectly with the earthen vibes present in the music. Future Sound of London out did themselves with the Lifeforms and these remixes are the compliment to the album, if you have a brain in your head you'll scoop this up. PEACE

I am a house/dance snob, owning a ton of records and cd's, including all of Mark Farina's (including Seasons Vol. 1). By far, this is the most representative of the type of set you are likely to hear Mr. Farina play at a club or party. The other live Farina CD, live in Tokyo, captures the live-ness of the event, but the track selection was more mainstream than anything he normally plays when he's behind the decks and in front of a crowd. The tracks on this Ministry of Sound sessions were mixed live, with no editing and only a short break between discs. The tracks are underground and there is no digital assistance to account for the mixing skills.
Disc 1 is a 5 star review from me. With the exception of one mix toward the end, this set is flawless, the ... Read More:

'Twas on the waters of Lake Powell when I first heard this one and it was immediately captivating. Kitchy beats, vocals and samples abound. This is for parties and cocktail hours and if you aren't smiling by the 4th track or so, go put on a mopey emo record and don't bother the rest of us who like to have fun. Wow. Tech Mix 5 finds its way into my CD player quite often, and its been nearly a year since I purchased. Highly recommended for anyone with even a luke-warm liking of electronica.

...from anything, actually.
Summary:
Audio geeks: buy this
Jeff Beck fans: buy Who Else! first, then this if you like it
other music fans: should probably start with "blow by blow" or even "truth" to see Jeff's roots--not what you might expect given this album (and great albums)
First off, The recording quality on this is astounding. The sounds used are well outside of the normal range. With my Dahlquist DQ-10 speakers, I was occasionally confused about where the sound was coming from, because I was pretty sure my speakers couldn't make those sounds.
In short, this album is an absolute must for audiophiles. I use a variety of tracks for testing speakers/headphones/amps/whatever, but I listening to track 8 (Line Dancing With Monkeys) ... Read More:
