The Golden Gate Bridge ain't the only thing worth checking out in the Bay Area. San Fran-based DJ Mark Farina demonstrates his ability to make you dance with this 68-minute trip through some serious house grooves which feature some vocals. My tracks of choice are the bangin' "I Know" and the 14-minute epic "It's Love," which, despite its length, never wears out its welcome. There are quite a handful of DJ mix CDs from Farina, but this is a good place to begin if you're starting to build a collection of his work.

I guess I should have read some of the comments/reviews on this before spending the money! I do like the music, what little of it there is. Way too short. It seems as though it is just several of the "listen to sample here" things you can listen to before purchasing music online. I guess when you think of Miles you tend to expect 10-30 minute songs? All in all I was disappointed with this CD and would not recommend it, unless you just really really love Miles and have to own anything that has his touch (kinda like me!) Maybe these guys can release something a little more substantial in the future and I would give them another chance!

This is a CD full of songs of wonder. There are over twenty of them, all at around two to three minutes. No lyrics, no attention seekers, no words (although I remember one song having a few yells and whoops): just good music. Each one of them invokes some specific atmosphere, some rich tapestry of attitude, and then... it's off to the next one. It will keep you guessing, keep your attention, and keep your focus. This CD is great to listen to for background music, party music and just plain music. You can't go wrong with this one. It is instrumental, or more accurately, it is unburdened with A Message. It just wants to have fun, and wants you included.

I used to listen to punk and heavy metal while on road trips. Then I got married and had some kids. Sadly, none of the rest of them like to listen to punk or heavy metal. But fortunately I found URSULA! On a recent road trip, we must have listened to this CD about 10 times in a row. It got a little old in places (there was one track that we'd skip each time it came up), but you'll find that with anything. I give it a hearty two thumbs up!

This CD, in the late 90's, was a critical implement to the American understanding of the movement taking place in Europe >outside< of the Ministry of Sound. For those of you that spent your collegiate summers studying various forms in Oxford, you'll have vague recollections of weekends spent in London's back-alley clubs that only the "natives" could navigate.

That's all really, this CD is one of the best in my collection! If you like house, you should love this! One thing I really liked about this CD was that all the tracks are joined like one long track! Excellent!

weeee, whooouhooouhooouhooo. What fun to play with my little sampling machine...H'mmm, what does this sound make? dueep? How cute. zoop, bweeet, kachouw chew chew chawang. Hootchy Koothcy what a hoot. I suppose this was interesting in 1998, I got it from the electronica section under the sign 'Best 1000 albums you must own.' Say no more, say no more, but this ain't one of 'em. Although, track 12 is really good. The rest sounds like a irishman's idea of what people with 'street cred' sound like (and I guess the sounds they listen to) in New York City. Really though that somewhat mythical gritty side of New York, manhattan-wise all but disappeared sometime in the 1980's to be replaced by a different kind of city where people from Chicago or, say, Ireland can feel safe ... I like the Chemical Brothers. Every new CD has 2 or 3 tunes that really do it for me. But their videos in this collection are all excellent. Even the songs that aren't my faves to listen to really grab me in the context of the audio/visual interface. These pieces are uniformly professional, imaginative, creative, entertaining, suprising, and wierd, wierd, wierd. Common threads are there, but each video is different. I'm all for bands getting their A/V geek pals to do vids for them, but Chem Bros have the juice to make it happen on a level of quality you rarely see in the counterculture scene, without losing the tiniest bit of the edge that makes them a great band. Also some great concert footage. I love it. - lgv

I don't give a damn who this is, or why they did it...cop this album. There is no question that there is a supreme talent/mastermind behind the whole thing, internet hype and all. It could be Doom, it could be Cut Chemist, but who cares, it is the funkiest dopest feel good hip hop jazz funk banger released in a while. Buy it, steal it, whatever, just get it. NOW.

I have heard so many far out reviews that make me wonder if anyone actually listened to the disc. I've listened to my fair share of heavy electronic and/or sampled music, though it is not my main source of music.
I had never heard of this band, and picked up their cd at the local Goodwill store for either 1 or 2 dollars. I had no pre-conceived notions of what they sounded like, I came in with a fresh mind.
These guys are great. Mostly upbeat music, with a surprising amount of rocking for an electronic outfit. All to often, electronic outfits get too repetitive and boring through a cd, but they kept it fresh.
The instrumental choices throught the CD pull from piano, organ, horns, guitar, harmonic, etc. The songs are distinguished from each other ... Read More:
