Not much can be said about the FF VII soundtrack that hasn't already been said. It is simply brilliant, a masterpiece of videogame music that has endured the ages. Final fantasy VII was my favorite FF game and the same can be said of its brlliantly composed music, of course by reknowned Japanese game composer Nobuo Uematsu.

I really enjoyed this soundtrack. It brought back a lot of memories of sneaking up behind people in the game, and is definitely one of my more played soundtracks. The sound is very distinctive, and the compositions are incredible; Amon Tobin's mastery of sound shows in every piece.

There is abviously a butt-load of talent and money behind this soundtrack. But it's married with very little originality. I will say that the score works extremely well within the gameplay itself with plenty of bombast and a few quieter, reflective pieces, but there's really nothing that hasn't been heard before.
I'd be tempted to point a curious game soundtrack collector to the "Mass Effect" OST (although, it does have an admitedly anemic 3-note main theme, but hey, "Jaws" did pretty well on 2!) which has a more inspired take on the melding of 80's electronic work (think "Tron", "Bladerunner", "Escape From New York") and orchestral elements. Or maybe even check out "Before Crisis - Final Fantasy VII" OST, and although not technically a ... Read More:

The music is good. This V-Rock radio station is not as good as the V-Rock in GTA: Vice City Stories, which was set in an earlier time and has Cousin Eddie and "intern" Lazlow. Still, the music is good in this one, but I just don't care much for the DJ.

This is one of the finest adaptations of Batman I've ever seen. It ranks along with Burton's and Nolan's Batman as the best Batman films.
Here, Batman is being blamed for the deaths of crime bosses, all of whom are actually the works of the mysterious Phantasm. So the Dark Knight must find out who is wearing the mask of the Phantasm, while dealing with an old flame named Andrea (who seems to be connected with these recently-deceased crime bosses). Add the Joker (voiced by the excellent Mark Hamill) and you've got a suspenseful story and intense action throughout the movie.
Animation won't disappoint. Voice acting and dialogue are a plus (Joker's one-liners are as memorable as Jack Nicholson's from Batman '89). Shirley Walker's music ... Read More:

There are sixteen tracks on this CD, but only fourteen are pop vocal tracks. The last two tracks on the disc are score pieces (one is from the "Pikachu's Rescue Adventure Short," while the other comes from the actual film). The score piece from the short is done in such a way that it fits in with the pop vocal tracks. However, the score piece from the film stands out like a sore thumb in comparison to the other tracks on the disc.
Most of the artists included on this disc make it obvious the CD was being aimed at a young audience. The CD includes songs by Dreamstreet, Angela Via, plus ONE, Laura Pausini, Westlife, Youngstown, Nobody's Angel, and O-Town. The exceptions to this would be Donna Summer, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and The B-52's.

I'm reading a lot of reviews saying that this is the best 'game soundtrack' and I figured that I'd write a review to disagree a bit. This in my opinino is Yasunori Mitsuda's ultimate masterpiece. The music is timeless and I'm been listening to it for years now and its beauty simply refuses to fade.
The price tag on this is pretty staggering I must say, but if you are going to buy any cd for this much money, this is the only one that I feel would be worth every penny.

When I heard the Smurf by Tyrone Brunson, I was like, "Oh Yeah!!!". But when I saw that they didn't have it on the CD, I was like, "Oh no!" The Smurf would've been the only reason why I would've bought this CD being that I already have the other tracks. The Smurf is a major jam. Too bad it didn't make the cut.

This album is really good. I must also disagree with Mr. Watson; the Zelda music is a bit better than most of the Mario tracks. There are only three things that keep this CD away from perfection:
1. There are a few intonation problems near the beginning. This would be okay by itself, but the Mario Scat version is simply horrible, even cringe-worthy. It sounds as if they learned it about two seconds before they performed. Avoid that track at all costs.
2. Be prepared for the audience to clap in time to most of the tunes. It'd be alright if they did it once or twice throughout the album, but the incessant clapping takes away from the power of the songs after a while.
3. The price is a bit high, but that's to be expected of an import.

Jesper Kyd is famous for his awesome video games' scores. I first listened to him while playing Freedom Fighters and I found it amazing.
The Hitman series are games with great stories, unfortunately the first three of them were not very carefully made, but the forth installment - Blood Money - is something memorable and the soundtrack does not fall behind.
I would recommend any Hitman soundtrack, but this one is rock solid.
