This album is mostly intended for those with the xBox 360 version of the game because you can use it to download 3 songs and play them in game. But other than that, it's a decent album (though it could use more tracks).
Guitar Hero 3 Intro- Pretty cool little intro. After all, Slash is an amazing guitarist. Yet there isn't anything special about this song. 8/10
Cherub Rock- I already had this song when I got the album, but I'm not saying it's a bad song. Smashing Pumpkins is a great band and this song is one of there best. 9/10
3's & 7's- I already had this song when I got this album, but again; not saying it's a bad song. In fact it might be one of the best! Queens of the Stone Age did an awesome ... Read More:

Another Disney Soundtrack CD with some star names doing rare songs to draw a collector in. I'm not a fan of Disney music, but I had to have the song by Ruth Pointer being a major Pointer Sisters fan. STREETS OF GOLD is really a pretty good song . Same could be said for the Billy Joel song, and the Huey Lewis song isn't bad. But Bette Midler's is a sickeningly sappy piece of Broadway schtick where Bette lays on the sweetness so heavy it made me get my soundtrack to THE ROSE out as an antidote. It's such schmaltz that made me cringe listening to this awfully bad song. Bette even tries to approxmate sound effects during this song " produced " by Barry Manilow. Fittingly, it's followed by a song sung by a young girl, and at least she's of age for such ... Read More:

There are sixteen tracks on this CD, but only fourteen are pop vocal tracks. The last two tracks on the disc are score pieces (one is from the "Pikachu's Rescue Adventure Short," while the other comes from the actual film). The score piece from the short is done in such a way that it fits in with the pop vocal tracks. However, the score piece from the film stands out like a sore thumb in comparison to the other tracks on the disc.
Most of the artists included on this disc make it obvious the CD was being aimed at a young audience. The CD includes songs by Dreamstreet, Angela Via, plus ONE, Laura Pausini, Westlife, Youngstown, Nobody's Angel, and O-Town. The exceptions to this would be Donna Summer, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and The B-52's. ... Read More:

I'm reading a lot of reviews saying that this is the best 'game soundtrack' and I figured that I'd write a review to disagree a bit. This in my opinino is Yasunori Mitsuda's ultimate masterpiece. The music is timeless and I'm been listening to it for years now and its beauty simply refuses to fade.
The price tag on this is pretty staggering I must say, but if you are going to buy any cd for this much money, this is the only one that I feel would be worth every penny.

I bought this soundtrack expecting to find hits from the eighties whose performers were unknown for me. I used to know some songs but not who was singing them, and I think I got what I expected.

My grandchild picked this out for me to read last night and I had almost forgotten what a wonderful book it is. It has a mystical beauty about it that you can't explain but you feel it nevertheless. The artwork is perfect just like all of Van Allsburg's books. He's my favorite children's book author. The movie is another thing. Where the book is mysterious and beautiful and somehow captures the wonder and awe of the Christmas season, I think the movie is just creepy--the addition of stereotyped ethnic characters was all contrived and wrong.
