Linkin Park has done it again. I loved Hybrid Theory, but this is probably my favorite CD that Linkin Park has produced to date. Everything is done better. There are more tracks, more songs, and broader emotional appeal.

Obviously hits like "Somewhere I belong" and "Lying away from you" are awesome. Other songs like "Nobody's Listening" are great as well. The songs combine metal, rap, and electronica extremely well. If you are a fan of any of those genres then this CD is for you. The songs appeal to your emotions. Whether you are feeling like an outsider or feel you have mistrusted, this CD has tons of songs for you.

I first learned of Shelby Lynne in a Rolling Stone Magazine article just after this record was released and decided to seek it out. I cannot say enough good things about this album. Quite simply, I FEEL the emotion that she has about the song topics and talk about continuity! This is one of the most cohesive albums that I have ever heard! It is 8 years later and my wife and I still listen to this once a month. We have gotten so much mileage from the CD we should have paid $100 for it. Its actual price of (about) $12.99 is a complete bargain. Don't pay attention to the jilted country fans in these reviews. let me start out by saying that slipknot is something that you have to have a taste for, so if you don't like it don't listen to it! anyway this self titled album is a great cd, it features some of their earlier work such as eyeless, and wait and bleed. the band its self consists of 9 members: sid wilson(DJ), corey taylor(lead vocals), jim root(rythem guitarist), mick thompson(lead guitarist), paul gray(bassist), shaun crahan(percussion), chris ferhn(percussion), craig jones(sampler), joey jordison(drums). needless to say, its a big band that packs one hell of a punch! oh and to those who said sid does nothing for the band, your wrong! he's a great dj, and only does what needs to done so that he's not over-bearing! i geuss in closing i'll say that ... This is the textbook definition of a band selling out: trading in great hard rock pieces with little publicity for generic poppy tunes that are suddenly all over the radio. I hope theyre happy with themselves. Listen to the first 2 albums instead.

As a an unexpected purchase, I was pleasantly surprised by this cd. Despite what others say, I don't hear Keenan's voice at all in 10 years lead. Honestly he's just not on that level that Keenan is, and to compare is doing Keenan a great disrespect. He sounds more like Taproots lead to me, and the music is about on par. I don't really think you're going to find anything highly original in this cd, but you will find a solid rock cd, with transparent lyrics, solid vocals, and a little mix of all kinds of rock genre sounds. If you're looking for some music that you can easily identify with, that isn't too far off from the norm, this is the one for you.

Having heard the two most popular albums by Nickelback, SILVER SIDE UP and ALL THE RIGHT REASONS, I decided to buy this one as well because I knew a few of the songs on it and remembered that I didn't have this one yet. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but after listening to it a few times I decided this is their best album of the three that I've heard. It's the closest to perfect I've ever heard on a post-grunge album.

I thought SILVER SIDE UP was too heavy on the guitars and all of the songs sounded too similar, and I thought ALL THE RIGHT REASONS was a better album but sounded too forced for the mainstream. This a review of the mastering, It is BAD. Perhaps the most infamous victim of the loudness war, but I hear so little of it from fans. The music is OK, I guess, but the sound is AWFUL. Consumer, educate yourself. END THE LOUDNESS WARS. Go get Blod Sugar Sex Magic, (original issue) it is the same, only it sounds good.

I know a lot about this album has already been said but I'll go ahead and say that I agree when people say that this is one of the best '90s rock albums, and one of the best rock albums of all time. Every song on "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" is amazing, with lots of great musicianship, singing and songwriting.
There's so much energy, funk and fun, this album is always great with every listen. From the amazing basslines of the legendary Flea to the in-the-pocket drumming of Chad Smith, the crooning vocals alongside the sometimes profound but in this case quite often naughty lyrics by the amazing Anthony Keidis and funky lead guitar lines of the awesome John Frusciante. This is an amazing album, plain and simple. It's low points are still far better than 90% of the music being produced commercially today. Frankly, I find it to be a perfect album and would recommend it to anyone.
