I consider "Rain Dogs", "Swordfishtrombones", and "Heartattack and Vine" the three core albums that any Tom Waits fan must have. While his earlier albums have an an aesthetic that some fans enjoy--I don't as much--these three show him finding his new footing as an artist. They are the three that I simply could not do without. The subsequent albums are treasures as well, but are, to a certain degree, fine tuning of his style, with a few variations. "Rain Dogs" contains a perfect balance of sentimentality and noir callousness in brilliant poetry that any artist can achieve once in a lifetime if they're lucky.

i originally bought the hypnotize album, but i ended up with this one in the hypnotize case.however this album is worth buying.the best songs are: revenga, b.y.o.b., question, sad statue, and lost in hollywood. it's probably just as good as hypnotize.

Everyone has a copy of Trinity, as well they should. When I saw that the Junkies were going to re-record it, I was more than a bit apprehensive. My most recent experiences with an artist revisiting their old work, such as Tori Amos's re-working of several songs for her retrospective "Tales of a Librarian", left me cold. So this has been sitting on my shelf for a few months now, waiting for me to listen.

I'm now kicking myself for waiting so long. They didn't just re-record the old tracks, they took a fresh look at them. This fresh look is helped along by bringing in a surprising slate of guest artists: Natalie Merchant, Ryan Adams, and Vic Chesnutt. It works, it works really really well. I am in awe.

I really enjoy listening to this CD. The radio doesn't play nearly enough Tracy Chapmans songs. I have only ever heard 2 played on the radio and I listen to a wide variety of music. I'd say that I definitely got my moneys worth. And as always the delivery time was excellent.

This is the best album cover ever in rock and roll history as far as I'm concerned, the music inside is just gravy. Nothing could top OK Computer, so Radiohead didn't even try - they very wisely went in a completely different direction into almost another genre altogether. OK Computer is basically a straight up rock record but Kid A is pretty much electronic music. The first song, "Everything in it's Right Place" is one of the best in Radiohead's live set - it sounds much better live is what I'm trying to say - but the studio version is still very captivating, especially with good speakers. "How To Disappear Completely" almost matches the intensity of "Exit Music" from the previous record. I think the peak of the record is "In Limbo", maybe the scariest ... Read More:

I could provide a lengthy description here, talking about this and that song, style and technique and all that, but why bother? There's just one thing you need to know: this CD is extraordinary. "Jacksonville" is my favorite.

I recently heard the song You and Me by Lifehouse and absolutely fell in love with it...no pun intended. It is such an incredible song and fun to play on a guitar, by the way. I bought the CD because of the song but enjoy the whole thing. My favorite songs are You and Me, All in All, and Better Luck Next Time. All my friends like this group too...we blast it in the car.
