The first song I ever heard by Damien Rice was Volcano and I fell in love. Volcano is an amazingly haunting song and sticks with you. Shortly afterwards I located his MySpace page and listened to songs from there which included songs from both 0 and 9 and fell even more in love.

I must say, Damien Rice has an amazing voice and beautiful lyrics. I would suggest this CD to everyone espcially if you're looking for music to just play in the background while working. The music is soft and even and isn't too distracting, but, as contradicting as this may sound, it's very memorable. There's no way I'll ever regret buying this CD.

Didn't like it too much at first but it grows on you after 2 weeks.. i think my mind couldn't categorize the music maybe?? it's all i listen to when i work out now.. 8 of the songs are great.. 2 are ok.. Track 2 is incredible.. read the words on the lyric sheet on that one and you will be cracking up.. crazy crazy sometimes but some songs are very touching and personal.. cool CD - the neighbors must think i'm nuts with how i blast it in the garage every sunday.. that's ok.. if the neighbors don't like it "THEY CAN DANCE IN THE POLICE DISCO LIGHTS!" (SEE TRACK 2).. get this it is nuts and emotional and sometimes slow but GOOD !!!

Please play a band called the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their songs, "Under the Bridge" and "Give it Away" should be continually played till you have brainwashed the unwashed masses into believing this is a cool new band. Do not refer to any of their earlier LP's or that they came from alternative music scene. The band have been around a number of years and it is to your benefit to avoid mentioning their history as we had no intention of supporting them during their early years.
Refer to the band in a familiar way, i.e "The Chili Peppers," and become sponsors of any up coming tours.

Can you say generic? This c.d. is terrible compared to Beautiful Tradgedy. Why did they decide to go rock without the metal? I have no idea either but it was a bad choice. Songs like Ashes, Daddy's fallin' angel, Next life and more were all wicked songs. I wouldn't call In This Moment sellouts because they do have the same sound as their previous album just lightened up a bit. It looks like they took a lesson from Nickelback on how to write lame, radio friendly rock songs. I'm dissappointed, come back with something heavier next time...

Given the limitations of time (80 minute CD) and representation (at least one song from each of his proper albums), this "best of" fulfills its title about as well as it can. As a long time fan, I find the selections pretty accurately cover my favorites--with one glaring exception being the uplifting "Miracle" off the "Under Cold Blue Stars" album.

Josh Rouse is an adept storyteller with a knack for a gorgeous melody. His songs depict very real, relatable scenarios (and, accordingly, carry much emotional weight). At his best, these elements combine for dramatic effect, be it joyful and optimistic ("It's the Nighttime," "Rise," "Feeling No Pain") or heartbreaking ("My Love Is Gone," "Michigan"). Being a fan of all things Damon Albarn, there was never a question of whether I would pick up this cd. What surprises me though is how readily accessible I have found it. Sonically, there is a lot going on here, but a lot of the sound of the album and much of the music will not feel all that foreign to one who has been a diehard Gorillaz fan for some time, as quite a bit of the music reminds me of something you might expect to have heard on G-Sides or D-Sides. (This also means that the "From the creators of Gorillaz" sticker tag is not an entirely misleading sell.)

After reading numerous POSITIVE Reviews I thought I would give this CD a shot, as I am also a fan of early 1900's French and Parisian Music... and this CD was extolled to be such....and these were also very romantic times! Well, as we all have broad tastes in music so do I and when I say my tastes are broad, I'm being conservative as about the only thing I don't like is Opera and Rap! Anything else in between usually works! However, not this CD! I've TRIED listening to every track and was, today, on my 3rd-attempt to try and find something about it that I could enjoy! I got up to selection #5 and hit the eject button! To me it was nothing but noise, more noise and then some more!! It's going on eBay tomorrow for 1-cent plus shipping! Look for it!

This is the textbook definition of a band selling out: trading in great hard rock pieces with little publicity for generic poppy tunes that are suddenly all over the radio. I hope theyre happy with themselves. Listen to the first 2 albums instead.
