Alright, so you've probably heard a lot about this album and this band but I think this album and the band deserve so much credit. If you haven't really listened to anything off this album yet, I'm going to convince you to. Read on.
This amazing album has two disks: Jupiter and Mars; both fantastic. Its sound is way different than previous RHCP albums but still keeps they're original style and flair. With crazy bass lines from bassist Flea and funky guitar rifts from guitarist John Frusciante, this album is packed with creativity and has something for everyone. Drums are always great too when you got Chad Smith on them; one of the few guys in rock music these days that keeps a smile on his face.

This album is in a league of it's own. The diligence with which this album was written truly shows. Nothing short of genius. Just remember, the Pumpkins always deliver.

I have all of Jame's albums and for the most part love his work. I grew up in a small rural town and in many ways, he really weaves a nice story together out of nothing no-name towns, backwoods roads, and the people who live in those places. His past albums are great because while there is a sort of political, satirical edge to them but the politics doesn't take over the music or do any preaching. In my opinion, Saint Mary of the Woods is his best album to date. But with the release of Childish things, he sort of took a turn into being more political in a blunt, in you face sort of way.
Perhaps some people like that. But as for me, I don't care for it because since his latest album is specifically about the current President and Vice President, ... Read More:

All I've heard for almost 15 years now is 'Like, oh my God, Jeff Buckley's music is so, like, beautiful...' Well I decided to drink the Kool-aid and buy the CD- I figured, 'Hey, I like tragic rock stars, I like beautiful music when it's done right. I'll give it a shot.' I'm sorry I can't give a review to all the songs because I was always either asleep or had left the room by song six. He's the classic singer without a song- his lyrics are full of the type of mawkish, frat-boy pathos that sorority girls swoon over and anyone with a brain rolls their eyes or cringes at. He's nothing compared to the Cowboy Junkies or Nick Drake or Elliot Smith or Simon or Garfunkel. I only gave it two stars because it is indeed a good cd if you can't fall asleep. Another case ... Release Date September 20, 2005
I think all the songs on this are well done...they have melodies which a lot of other hard rock/metal doesn't. I have Indestructible and The Sickness also. Indestructible has guitar solos which i like, but i like the songs better on Ten Thousand Fists. I'm not a great music critic but I think if you like disturbed then you need to have this album.
Oh, and shame on whoever tagged this as alternative rock.

I was very surprised that the overall opinion on this album was so negative. Because this is, not only the best Tool album (Lateralus is very close, I admit), it is also one of the best albums I've ever heard, hands down - and one of the albums I've heard the most times in my life. So many times I know every passage, every awesome bass chop, every drum fill down to the last detail (well, almost) - and yet I still haven't tired of it! If anything, it keeps getting better.
I suppose I, on an objective level, can see why some of you might feel disappointed - it is a slow-moving, long, dragged-out affair as opposed to especially Undertow and Aenima, but it's also incredibly fresh and instantly intruguing in many cases. At least I was instantly awe-inspired by the guitar ... Read More:
