Avenged Sevenfold have truly mastered their craft. The gnarly vocals, the Iron Maiden-like dual guitar parts and solos, the jackhammer drums, etc. WE GET IT ALREADY. You're Avenged Sevenfold. We got it ever since we heard your other albums and songs some months ago. If you liked Waking The Fallen I'm sure you'll like this. But to think this resembles any sort of change for A7X, you'd have to be disturbed. The story of the second Margot and the Nuclear So-and-Sos album is a pretty unpleasant one -- as rumour says, the label didn't like the band's sophomore album "Animal!", leading to some conflict with the band.

The compromise: "Not Animal," a more label-friendly album, released alongside a vinyl-only release of the original "Animal." (They have some of the same songs, though)

Don't worry, though. "No Animal" is not a radio-friendly pop confection, nor is it a trend-hopping MTV-esque album styled for mass consumption. I absolutely love Tool but I somewhat regret buying this LP. The light weight of the vinyl leaves me unsatisfied. Also, the labels look like they were applied by a three year old. The labels were sloppily pressed into the record, cut/torn and don't even feature any artwork (a little boring to look at).

From "Serve the Servants" to "All Apologies" this album never EVER lets you down, its lyrics are haunting and melodic. Kurt Cobain's thoughts come out loud and clear in this amazing record. This incredible music should not only be owned by any true Nirvana fan, but by anyone who is interested in Seattle sound.

You can tell these guys actually know what they're doing in their music. I love how in their 4th song they find use for a tritone and it actually sounds awesome. I don't own their first cd cause it always seemed like it was just the "popular" kind of music, but my friend showed me this cd and I bought it the next day. The closest band I could probably relate this to is the Beatles, but it's all original music! I listen to all types of music except country and I've been listening to this cd a lot!

Only true classics deserve 5 stars, whereas only corporate drivel deserves 1 star, like a Britney Spears album. The 2nd album by In this Moment, the Dream, earns 3 stars.

The focus of this record is, again, Brink on vocals and she does a wonderful job. There is less screaming this time, and to be honest, that suits the band so much better anyways. The hit off the first record -- the title track Beautiful Tragedy -- was more modern popmetal and that's the style they've chosen to follow, and for good reason. There's one track where screams are featured at length, the Great Divide, but other than that it's kept to a minimum.

Nobody really actually enjoys listening to Radiohead. They just pretend to so that they appear to be hip or intelligent. I guess if a bunch of random noise put together to appear "deep" is your thing you should buy this album. If you have any taste stay far away. Thom Yorke is also the AntiChrist.

Discovered the group through a Youtube video of Hurricane Jane. Their rock sounds so much like The Cure's lead and with a retro streak that's unmistakable. The cutesy rock sounds with girlie backup singers is also a refreshing change from all the piano 'soft' rock bands of today. Very nice catchy songs with often times a change in melodies mid-track. Which makes it like 15 tracks squeezed into 10.
