Recently discovered this band and I must say this is something special! At age 48 I have heard so much stuff and over the past years I thought I had just gotten too old (as it would be presumptuous to claim that modern music is going nowhere fast). So for those that listened and still listen to Prefab Sprout, Joy Division and even New Order, for those that enjoyed Echo and the Bunnymen's Heaven Up Here, well, check out these kids from Canada. It might just blow you away. Yes, the production is not always perfect, but these issues are just dwarfed by the great lyrics and the excellent timing of each element in the compositions. If you want to try it out with a download of a song or two, I suggest that you go for:

I bought this album, having only heard "Welcome to the Black Parade" and "Famous Last Words". I was so excited to learn that the rest of the songs were absolutely amazing too! There's not one song on this CD that I don't like. My personal favorite, "I Don't Love You" was so different from the rest, a bit more mellow, but still great. Anyway, keep up the great work, MCR!

This album has a different shift from Frenchfolk M83's last two albums
Digital Shades and Before the Dawn Heals us; there's no moon
romance in this album, but it still upkeeps the theatrical and
searching sound. The `youth' it attempts is filtered through nostalgia
for the purposefully fake sounds of the '80s,. This album could easily
be classified as fantasy pop music (the vocals occasionally sound sinister).
Sometimes there are obvious musical parallels to people like Phil Collins--but
makes sense with the reminiscent 80s. Play any of `em. if you flip through
the cd cover, note how each person is divinely beautiful .

G. Love is a fantastic artist and has great views on life. This album is great. Lemonade was a great follow up to Hustle which sold a lot of copies. Superhero Brother is different however, since he stepped it up and played more up beat songs that slower songs. But you got to give him credit for recording "Who's Got The Weed?" after years of playing it live, now was a great time to lay it on a track for an album. Balls to the wall and definitely diggin that. Keep up the good work.

This band's for real. Music is killer. Just saw them at Bonnaroo and they were soooooooo good! Even better live, but get the cd. You won't be disappointed.

OCTOBER has some real stand out tracks on it; I'm enjoying them more than ever before. In fact, i haven't listened to this album in decades until now, and I am surprised how much I love a lot of the songs. Perhaps in part due to how much better the music sounds than it did on my original vinyl and CD. The same team that re-mastered JT and BOY, and WAR, Arnie Acosta and Cheryl Engels at Bernie Grundman Mastering, did this one, and they did a wonderful job, IMO. Not too loud, thank goodness, and really open and clear, and with details I never noticed before.
This is my favorite bonus CD so far, because I love all the live performances. It is great fun to compare the live versions of songs to their studio counterparts. And, as all have already said, ... Read More:

Flight of the Conchords should have done a little more brainstorming when trying to come up with things to sing about. This disc has five songs, and two of them are about sex. The opening track, "Business Time," is a rhythm-driven slow jam with the singer breathily monologuing about having sex with his wife/girlfriend... not a very welcoming way to start off your very first disc release. We move on to "If You're Into It," and hey, more sex! This time, the singer is encouraging a girl to have sex with some other guy.
Once you get past those two, the rest of the disc is very good. "I'm Not Crying" is, without a doubt, the best Conchords song yet. The subtle ironies and slight jabs at psychological denial of a lover's rejection are absolutely brilliant. The last three tracks were from ... Read More:

After listening through this album, I have to say...
This is the CD for the consumer who has no taste in music and prefers to be spoon-fed tunes from last decade. Instead of spending money on this, buy a ticket to a real show. Visit your local bar for details.
In a positive light, I can say that this album is nostalgic, so it's up to you. It almost definitely reflects the repertoire on your local "rock" radio station.

John Fogerty is one of the greatest talents in American history. I wish he would stick to swamp music and stay out of politics. I feel cheated on my purchase of this CD; if I wanted his opinion on politics I would have called him on the phone.

Okay chances are you either heard the song "Hanging By A Moment" on the radio or you probably saw the buzzballads commercial like I did. And chances are you think no song could top it off...but believe me there are plenty that do and this is coming from a pessimist.
1)hanging by a moment: not gonna get too into it. one of those songs you love at the first listen and that you just wanna play over and over. that and what made the band big when it debuted
2)sick cycle carousel: good song to come after HBAM. starts off nice and then gets into it. pretty good song. didnt get as much success radiowise but still one of the more radio friendly songs.
3)Unknown: pretty good song. however though its not one of the ones i listen to the most. although it is ... Read More:
