A collection of Jazz, R&B and Inspirational recordings with a twist of Take 6 arrangements and vocals, unmatched by anyone else out there. Not your typical Take 6 Gospel recording, but a fun listen with superb guest appearances. Leaning more towards secular jazz tunes may cause some a bit of concern that they've left their gospel roots. But after attending a very recent performance in Los Angeles, their testimony is still as strong as ever. Good music from the best vocal ensemble out there.

This is so good it hurts. I have listened to it over and over with rapt attention. The texture is rich, the poetry, thoughtful. The final five tracks create a beautiful sequence, particularly the couplets eight and nine and ten and eleven. Tracks ten and eleven form one song in two movements and create such a haunting experience that I was frightened on my first listening. I cannot recommend this high enough, and this is after a couple months of consistantly listening to this album. It is my favorite LaMontagne album thus far.

This and Jim Brickman's more recent efforts are departing from the style and song selection that made him so appealing in the past. I prefer his earlier piano selections for their ethereal and romantic style. The inclusion of so-so vocalists who where harsh to me in his recent efforts and his piano stylings also did not have that beauty and sweetness of his earlier albums and DVD's of which I own all.

Bought this for my sister who was really into the Spice Girls at the height of their fame. I've listened to it with her and there are a couple of good songs but I was in my late 20's when this came out so it was a bit past my interest level. Music and vocals are ok. If you are a SG fan, you will like this cd.

Given my generous nature, I'm probably being a bit generous giving this CD 4 stars. 3.5 is closer to my actual feelings. While I love DeGraw's voice I find the songs somewhat repetitive. Once you've heard a few you've pretty much heard the entire cd. Still, In Love With A Girl is a great song and one I enjoy over and over again.

I honestly do like all the songs on this CD, there isn't a bad one on their, but there also isn't really an outstanding one either. Simply put I prefer to spread the songs out through a playlist rather than listen to it all at once.

I bought this DVD mainly to listen and view my Chicago favorites. They open the show with EWF and start off with Beginnings which has been one of my all time favorite Chicago songs if not the all time favorite. It almost goes downhill after that. I would have not chosen to open the show with that song. That one should have been at the end or on one of the encores. Nonetheless, they play a couple of other songs together than they break off. EWF gets to play first and then Chicago takes the stage and then they join together again as in the beginning. Earth Wind and Fire steal the show and they are tighter musically. Chicago sounds good but not as great as they can be. Overall I would give them an A-, EWF an A+, and together an A. I would recommend this ... Read More:
