I haven't heard this album in years but this was the single biggest let down/insult/disappointment I have ever heard.I was a huge fan of the first two albums and remember when no one had heard of them and I mentioned them (along with Travis) to people who said they liked Radiohead. The new album(Viva La Vida) is passable but this album apart from Fix You is the stalest most derivative uninspired album I've ever heard. If you want to hear the original version of this album check out Kid A. Not only does Coldplay's X&Y rip this album off shamelessly, but they do a horrible job of it.
Like I said I loved the first two albums and I defended Coldplay when people said they were completely unoriginal. I've always liked Radiohead better but ... Read More:

RARITIES, B-Sides, & OTHER STUFF volume 2 is a collection of tracks either by Sarah McLachlan herself or featured her gentle vocals. A lot of the songs can be found on compilations like FOR THE CHILDREN which "The Rainbow Connection" could be found on. As a long time fan of Sarah McLachlan's music, I had to check out this sequel to her first compilation of rare tracks and b-sides. For the most part I did like the cd but there are moments that makes me cringe and wonder what was she thinking. I absolutely despised the massacre of Harry Chapin's "Cat in the Cradle" re-titled "Just Like Me" which featured rapper DMC. Horrible doesn't even cover the description. Taking a well known popular song and turning it into some dreadful rap song is proof ... Read More:

Ray has a very interesting quality in his voice which ads a dimenmsion to almost any lyric. The Lyrics are very thought provoking making this a good purchase.

When I thought about buying this album, I was torn between it and the soundtrack from the movie "Once". I decided to get this because I felt like it would have more of an album feel. That it does. Listening to this album is like following the songwriters through a cohesive story of the character they created. Every song is passionate/wonderful/beautiful. Especially the Marketa Irglova instrumental(s). The art in the liner notes is pretty cool, too.

Though Reveal had some lovely moments, this is the first
example of REM sounding like a "complete" band since Bill Berrys retirement. Power and passion!!! Awesome!!!

I hate admitting this because I've been a Counting Crows fan since... well since "August...". But this CD is so bland I couldn't get into it at all.
I gave it chance after chance... listen after listen. None of the songs ever stuck in my head. I found the music to be old hat, but not in a classic, good way. And the lyrics were terribly weak. They've lost all feeling. One of the things that has always made CC a good band was that the lyrics were usually raw and filled with emotion. This CD sounds like they didn't put anything of themselves in it. Its almost as if they're just performing songs that other people wrote as parodies of counting crows songs.
This is the first Counting Crows Cd i took out of my rotation before ... Read More:

Right...so we've all heard Almost Lover, right? I'm assuming you liked that song, if not loved it to death as I did, but i've got news for you...it's not her best. I'm totally blown away by this album. AFF is a lyrical genius. I'll admit her stuff can be wuite depressing, but it is so real and moving...that it may bring you to tears. Seriously. Think of You, Ashes and Wine, Last of Days and Near To You are sure to make your eyes swell. Then Lifesize, Minnow and the Trout, Rangers and You Picked Me are happier and mostly easy listening. I recommend this to the highest regard.

Talent-shmalent? Are you kidding? Most of the songs(albeit not all) rock! You can't honestly tell me that the song All Around Me by Flyleaf is junk...Flyleaf is one of the best rock bands I've ever heard! And some of the other songs, such as I'm In Love With A Girl by Gavin DeGraw is good, too! The best songs on this CD were:
All Around Me by Flyleaf
I'm In Love With A Girl by Gavin DeGraw
Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis
Beat It by Fall Out Boy feat. John Mayer
Sexy Can I by Ray J feat. Yung Berg
Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield
No Air by Jordin Sparks feat. Chris Brown
Realize by Colbie Caillat
You're Gonna Miss This by Trace Adkins
Our Song by Taylor Swift
And others...
