Joshua Radin is just as incredible live as on this CD. I cannot wait to hear his new music soon! His lyrics are really something to listen to. The organic, acoustic vibe to this music is perfect. He is going to become the next big artist soon!

I love Jewel. Always have. However, I don't find it necessary that she pick up on the cheesier aspects of country to create a new gimmick for herself. She's fine the way she is. I like the CD still, but I don't feel like adding a generic twang to your folk sound makes you a genuine country artist.

I had just seen a concert with KT, and thought she was great. I was excited to get the CD, and was very pleased with how quickly I received it. Would definitely deal with this vendor again in the future.

I liked Gavin when he was the lead singer for Bush but I love his first solo album more than ever. I have sampled a few songs and am amazed and love his sound. I have seen the video for All that Remains and feel it is wonderful and done in very good taste and shows the real Gavin or at least musically anyway. I am a fan of his wife Gwen and her band as well. I have been searching of this CD as ever since seeing the first video released I fell in love with Gavin and his music all over again. WAY TO GO GAVIN I HOPE TO SEE YOU ON TOUR SOON!

As of this writing, there have only been two reviews of this CD. Does this mean that the CD is not selling well? Or does it mean that the buyers do not care to write a review?

I hope the latter. This is a great CD. A little more "acoustic" than his previous two releases, but still some great songwriting and musicianship. It doesn't get much better than Doyle Bramhall II playing lead guitar.

Rodney Crowell's music is neither country or rock, but is better than anything you will hear on either country or rock radio. I hope he continues to make music that appeals to himself rather than the commercial audience.

I'll admit at first listen I wasn't completely impressed. After a second listen I fell in love with the album (just took me a while to get adjusted to the "new" Alicia). Some of my favorites are No One, Superwoman, Lesson Learned, and Teenage Love Affair.

Great album. You get alot of variety and a new side of Alicia.

Last Days At the Lodge

On his new album Last Days at the Lodge, Amos Lee plays it all close to the chest. The melodies sound familiar, the lyrics sound familiar, and it all sounds like Lee is only half-interested in the songs he's singing. Many of the songs just sound tired and old hat. There are some exceptions, and his voice is still magnificent. I personally liked the songs Won't Let Me Go, and Kid, which is simple but inspiring. Overall, however, the album left me wanting more and missing his previous album, Supply and Demand.

It is that rare album you find once every ten years. Every song is fantastic and you can just listen to the album over and over without tiring of it!!! Highly recommend!! I am thrilled I have it!

We've been anxiously waiting for this release since we heard some of these songs performed live in Wilmington, NC. As usual, Lila Downs and her band give us some fantastic new material. Also, with "Black Magic Woman" she does her unique black magic of taking someone else's song or a traditional folksong and making it her own.
Don't just buy this CD, buy all of them she's released so far and book some tickets for her concerts as well! This exciting music deserves much more attention north of the border than the short review she had recently in Rolling Stone, and her great interview on NPR.

I originally borrowed this CD from a friend and played it in the car on the way to work... then again and again... Reading the liner notes, I got the plot of the play down and could put the songs in context. But most of them stand on their own, as passionate pop-play songs, with interesting melodies, empassioned vocals, and that all-important factor: sing-along-bility.
I've since purchased my own copy and love it. The play is coming to my town next month and I cannot wait to it and experience the songs in their true context.
