I listened to the sample tracks here on Amazon and was intrigued by Amy Macdonald's sound. I am so glad I decided to take a chance on this CD. It has become one of my new favorites. There really aren't any tracks I don't like, which is unusual. Great rhythm, thoughtful lyrics, and her voice is just mesmerizing. Take a chance on this CD, I don't think you'll regret it!

This is great music. Every single song was excellent and made purchasing worth every cent. The collaborations were somewhat surprising, yet perfectly matched with his voice. I would recommend anyone looking for a smooth sound to set a mood; to purchase this.

Listen, I actually had a friend give me a free copy of the album and I am STILL Buying my own copy just to support this young lady! This is one of the best albums I have purchased in a long time! Listening to Adele's album makes you so upset with commercial radio! People complain that they want to hear better music and here it is! There are talented individuals out there, however we only hear the same 10 songs on the radio! I encourage anyone reading this review questioning whether or not they should buy the album TO BUY IT!!! I am actually offended that the price is set so low at $9.99! It should be higher!! I pray that she comes to Chicago for a concert! I know I am rambling now but I even searched her out on YouTube, Myspace, Adele.TV and she sounds just as ... Read More:

I love the song "Realize" and throughly enjoy "Bubbly." Everything else on this album sounds like everything else I've ever heard, not to mention each other, so save yourself some money and download these two if you like them and ignore the rest. It's really not worth the money.

If there's one thing that John Mayer makes clear on this concert release, it's that he's not just the handsome pop-rock star that he has been painted as throughout his rise to fame. Mayer is really a man of two talents: A knack for catchy singer-songwriter radio hits, and some serious talent on blues guitar to the point where he's played with the likes of Eric Clapton and Herbie Handcock.
"Where the Light Is" works as both a showcase piece and perception-breaker for Mayer, who plays three distinct sets in a single night in L.A. The concert holds an loose and intimate feel, filmed in an appropriately conservative manner to allow viewers to observe the nuances of the performance.
Highlights include a fantastic surprise Tom Petty cover to close ... Read More:

Snacktime! (2008, Desperation) Barenaked Ladies' tenth studio album. ***1/2
At first, it seems like a transtition to children's music is odd for Barenaked Ladies. They've always been more concerned with wit, something children of a young age don't catch onto. Not only that, but their image as the geek band that everyone loves doesn't necessarily lend itself to being childish. However, when you really think about it, it makes perfect sense. The college crowd that embraced them upon their 1998 smash hit "One Week" is now ten years older. They're in their late twenties to mid-thirties, and, like the band members, probably have children of their own. Snacktime! appeals to both the avid BNL fan as well as children, and is the equivalent of a Pixar film to music, though ... Read More:

It's best to start with one warning: some people simply don't like Conor Oberst's voice, whether it be on this album, or as a part of Bright Eyes or Desaparacidos. That being said, it is impossible to dispute Oberst's proficiency as a songwriter. As a lifelong Springsteen fan, I've always considered The Boss to be one of the best lyricists of all time. Since I became a fan of Bright Eyes and Oberst, I would now consider him to be better than Springsteen. Some of his lines are truly incredible, and the listener cannot help but be touched.
This album is unlike any Bright Eyes record. Bright Eyes songs have become known for their sad sound and slow rhythm that can be described as nothing but "depressing". While this album has a slow, sad song or two, it also has incredibly upbeat, ... Read More:

Jack Johnson... This is one of those CD's that you have to have. I love to listen to it on the beach and driving in my car. It's just so relaxing. Can't say enough good things about it. One of my favorites besides John Mayer

It's been almost 11 years since Portishead released their last self-titled album (I'm not counting Roseland NYC Live). The three member group of Adrian Utley, Geoff Barrow and more prominent Beth Gibbons have been often credited with making the trip hop genre more mainstream. Originating out of Bristol, UK, Portishead introduced their hometown sound to the commercial radio waves in 1994 with Dummy. With downtempo hip-hop beats, a touch of turntablism, and Gibbons' staple vocals, Portishead instantly created their own style and with that came a vast following. It's no wonder then, that when appropriately titled Third album hit the shelves, it was snatched with a hunger. Prior to the album's street date it was released on last-fm and attracted over 327,000 listeners within 24 hours. On Third, ... Read More:
