Begin to Hope has quickly become one of my favorite albums. I love Regina's quirky vocal styles and her lyrics that add depth and poetry. The album starts on a high note of "Fidelity" and continues in smooth transitions and whimsical fashion. Of course, I'm sure the whimsy is more calculated than it comes off as, but Regina is very talented and talent always makes it seem easy. The ever-expanding beats of "On the Radio" make it my favorite on this album.

Okay chances are you either heard the song "Hanging By A Moment" on the radio or you probably saw the buzzballads commercial like I did. And chances are you think no song could top it off...but believe me there are plenty that do and this is coming from a pessimist.
1)hanging by a moment: not gonna get too into it. one of those songs you love at the first listen and that you just wanna play over and over. that and what made the band big when it debuted
2)sick cycle carousel: good song to come after HBAM. starts off nice and then gets into it. pretty good song. didnt get as much success radiowise but still one of the more radio friendly songs.
3)Unknown: pretty good song. however though its not one ... Read More:

I would like to state that I am a Dave Matthews fan and own all of his albums. Crash is hands down not only my favorite DMB album but on my top list of all cds (I own over a 1000 cds).
The DMB is known as a touring band that can take any song and turn it into a 10 minute jam. Most of the crowd favorites of any concert are songs off the Crash album. In my opinion the entire album is solid from the well known to the least known. I would be comfortable in saying that the DMB should offer a money back gurantee on this album since everyone that I know enjoys it including a buddy who listens to bands such as Slayer.
If you are reading reviews to decide if this cd is worth the money, I can only say put it in the cart you ... Read More:

I was in Starbucks one morning and heard a song overhead that was so beautiful that I had to go back to the counter and ask what it was. Amos Lee - 'Arms of a Woman'. Had never heard of him. I went out and bought the CD. I love his voice. I don't like all of the songs, but most of them are wonderful. And of course, my favorite is 'Arms of a Woman'!

Norah jones is so relaxing to listen to with her soulful, blusey sounds.
However, now mix Norah Jones with a little bit of Fiona Apple and a new unique sound in Arrica Rose's new album La La Lost is born...taking the music up a notch. Check it out.

Matthew has his own musical path he's following, and you're welcome to come along, and if not, you have to admit he never puts less than 100% of himself into his music. I have albums of his I like better than others, but there's never been one that didn't hook me hard with at least a few songs. I'm pleased he's back after far too long a hiatus. I look forward to seeing him in concert again (in San Francisco--Matthew, I'll drop by backstage and we can talk about manga).

This album is much better than I expected. The melodies, harmonies, and production techniques exhibit Wilson's immense talent. I found the music very relaxing and enjoyable. I recommend this to people with an open mind about music.

I've liked Teddy Thompson's music in a small way for a while now, just picking up the occasional track online. This new release seemed to be creating a bit of a stir though, so I bought the whole CD to see if it was as good as everyone says.
You know what? It is.
It's like he's shifted into a higher gear and really got going. It needs a few spins to get into it, but this album has everything: the voice, the melodies, the catchy lyrics, the complexity... the X-Factor...
TT's always had a great voice, but it seems even better in this setting. He's really distinctive, but at a basic level, just a great singer. And he has an interesting and unexpected turn of phrase that keeps things interesting all the way through. Both lyrically and melodically, ... Read More:

Just a great CD. The first time I heard "You Oughta Know" I was like wow who is this angry chick. From the summer of '95 through the better part of '96 this CD pumped out hit after hit. "Hand in My Pocket", "Ironic", "Head Over Feet", on and on. Every song on here though is great not just the hits. This is one of those CDs when I put it in I'm transported back to another time in my life. That is what I use as criteria for a great album. If it conjures up feelings and thoughts of when you first heard it. "Hand in Pocket" was the one I really identified with back then. Being in my early/mid '20s at the time and in the middle of mass confusion with what to do with my life and being in my first real adult relationship. Alot of good stuff on here. Unfortunately ...
