Artists who don't grow... tend to die. Anyone familiar with Juliana's work will sense a similar structure, but experience a distinctly new execution. Personally, I like her new direction as much as her past efforts, and 'Some Girls' makes for a nice bridge between the two.

Begin to Hope has quickly become one of my favorite albums. I love Regina's quirky vocal styles and her lyrics that add depth and poetry. The album starts on a high note of "Fidelity" and continues in smooth transitions and whimsical fashion. Of course, I'm sure the whimsy is more calculated than it comes off as, but Regina is very talented and talent always makes it seem easy. The ever-expanding beats of "On the Radio" make it my favorite on this album.

Before I comment, I'd like you all to know that I'm a huge BF fan and was anticipating this release anxiously. I have all his piano transcription books and enjoy playing along with his tunes whenever I can. That being said, I was a bit disappointed in the selections from this album. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, it seems a bit weak, and certainly not one of his better releases. There are two selections which follow the same vein as his earlier albums which I really like - Cologne & Kylie, but the rest were somewhat reminiscent of Naked Baby Photos. Bottom line is, I will still support his work, and purchase his future stuff no matter what :) Haven't had a chance to look/listen at the DVD & live CD yet.

I have loved Blackmore's Night ever since I first heard them a few years ago. Candice has an amazing voice, Ritchie is a musical genius and combined with the rest of the ensemble they have a great band. And this latest release is another notch on their belt with a great album.

But if you like to have CD's then rip them to your MP3 player, be warned! It plays flawlessly on a CD player, but it is all scratchy on a computer. Any computer that this has been on sounds like an old overplayed LP. I thought importing it would clean it up, maybe bad playback or some such. Nope, the MP3 is poor quality too. This album is much better than I expected. The melodies, harmonies, and production techniques exhibit Wilson's immense talent. I found the music very relaxing and enjoyable. I recommend this to people with an open mind about music.
